One of the best streets in Frankfurt! Experience great local un-touristy flavor. Eat out. Shop.
Many specialty shops:
jewelry and accessories created by young upcoming designers
esoteric books
Asian and Turkish Fruits’n’Vegetable markets
traditional coffee-roasting establishment
wine shops
For those who like a bargain: Zalando outlet, Woolworth
For organic food shopping: Alnatura, Basics, Reformhaus - they also have Rewe, Aldi
For eating out: restaurants from all over the world: Tibet, Persia, Thailand, Vietnam, Italy, Turkey, Germany, Spain, American,... They have a lot of places where you can sit outside in the Leipziger Strasse and around this street. They have cheaper restaurants and more expensive ones, so you will surely find something for your taste.
Bakeries: They have more bakeries and cake shops that you can count. Conditorei Eube makes amazing cakes! Kröger's Brötchen has places to sit outside and great bread. Eifler is a very affordable bakery that also has loads of space to sit inside. The coffee roasters Wissmüller have a cool place to sit outside (and take home some coffee as well)
Take a look at the backyards, you will find some gems for shopping and eating there as well.
Every Thursday they have a market for fresh produce from local farmers. Amazing bread, sausage, vegetables, fruit,...
Easy to get to with U6/U7, station "Leipzigerstrasse" or take the U4 to "Bockenheimer Warte" and just walk 3 minutes.

With nearly eighty locations throughout Frankfurt and surrounding areas it is almost impossible to go a day without seeing the Red and Yellow name of Backer Eifler, their branded packaging noted on streets and even in the hands of Hotel or Restaurant staff at Michelin-starred places.
Originated in 1921 when Josef Eifler opened up shop at Eckenheimer Landstrasse 86, and now in its third generation under the direction of grandson Gerhard, it has been through steady expansion based on principles of in-house baking that the brand has been growing since 1960, a visit to the Leipziger Strasse shop on Tuesday at 06h00 finding several items warm and prices fair beginning with first bites of fluffy Bread topped with melted Cheese and Bacon.
Still offering several of Josef’s original recipes, but also home to innovation from certified Master Pastry Chef Gerhard, it is continuing savory that customers will find everything from cavernous Croissants finished with Malt to proper Pretzels or those filled with Butter, not to mention full Loaves intended to be taken home and used in Eifler Cafes to make Sandwiches.
Not a place to pass on sweets, though an Apfelkreppel was unfortunately a bit sparse with Fruit and the “Nusskringel” slightly dry, better bites came from a seasonal Danish loaded with Custard and Strawberries while the version with Rhubarb was even better as the perennial Plant’s sourness found its foil in buttery Streusel.

This was a lovely street that we chanced on as we were bimbling around this part of town and what a great find.
Full of cute little shops and some nice eateries ,on our visit this street was bouncing ,it's a really popular street with both locals and tourists and if your into your retail therapy well worth checking out.

The Leipziger is a local main street that invites with a sheer endless number of family owned little stores around fine foods (Waibel butcher, Sultan Veggies & Fruits and the famous Käse 34 cheese store or the Kochhaus to just mention a couple). It is worth a visit and walking up and down one will discover even more.

What I really like about Leipziger Strasse are the small shops lining both sides of the streets. A couple of real highlights can be found here: Metzgerei Waibel, probably the best butcher in Frankfurt, or Käse 34, the best cheese store for me in town. And many many others.
