Bucerius -Kunstforum. Exhibition space in the heart of Hamburg, near the Town Hall. Interesting architectural and planning solution, beautiful view from windows, gift shop with very interesting range , small lounge area on the last and penultimate floor, toilets on the first and last floor.
Note: access to all areas except the exhibition space is free!!!:))

There is now an exhibition of classic French photography
Henri Cartier-Bresson: through the lens of the country's professional, events, ordinary people and iconic figures of the generation, non-trivial look, black and white photo.
Very powerful words without words!!!
Ticket price 12€,
but lifehack - Tuesdays 50% discount on ticket, keep in mind😉
Definitely gotta go!!!

Wanted to visit this private museum in Hamburg. After spending 12 Euro entrance fee, felt cheated as the same amount gets me so much more in other museums.

Unless you have any specific reason to visit this museum, it is not worth the money. At least not for me.

Really enjoyed my visit to this little Gallery, I picked up a flier for the exhibition of Max Pechstein in another Gallery and went out of my way to visit this and from reading the reviews on here they have lots of little specialist exhibitions of some really well known artists (Picasso and Paula Modersohn-Becker to name two I spied)

The building was lovely and the exhibition of works was outstanding, I am happy in giving it 5/5 as would definitely visit again if I return to Hamburg:o) It is not a huge Gallery but sometimes that is ok as it can be exhausting if there is too much to take in.

Tourist unfriendly since all the painting description and explanations and history are written in german which is not an universal language. Since my german is very limited my experience at the museum was not as good as it could be.
Descriptions and history should be written in English too. And even maybe add Spanish.

Friendly and welcoming staff, that spoke English, and the exhibition was in both English and German! The place was clean and felt very cool and inviting, and it's in such a central location!

I went to see an exhibit in the new location for the museum. The architecture was really nice which was the first thing I noticed. The layout of the exhibition space was pretty good, but I think it lends itself well to a mixture of artists exhibiting and not a really big show. However, I could be wrong. Still, I already look forward to coming back for the next show. Tip: go to the top floor for the excellent view of city hall.

Great selection of artworks from CORBIJN, and the architecture of the building really lends itself to the atmosphere created by these images. Get over and see them!

The Bucerius Kunst Forum is located almost next to the Rathaus (Town Hall) and is well worth a visit. You need to check what is currently being exhibited because exhibits are not static. We visited an exhibition called The Birth of the Art Market - Rembrandt, Ruisdael, Van Goyen and the artists of the Golden Age. An audio guide or a paper text (in English) is essential to gain a full appreciation of the exhibits - explanations on the wall near each painting is in German. I found the explanation of the history of the art market's development and the explanation of how and why painters chose to paint what they did fascinating. For the most part painters painted to meet market demands and this was contextualised against the society at the time. The exhibition was split into two parts and there was also a film that supported the paintings on display.
This was only a small gallery costing 20 euro for two people and one audio guide. Worth a visit.

Check out the current exhibition schedule. The museum is located downtown near the City Hall. The exhibitions are very well done and well documented.

We expected a larger exhibition than it is - still nicely arranged and worth the money.
