Before this neighborhood was listed in every friggin internet travelshiznit it was actually quite cool. Gentrification was nibbling away at it since like 2006, but there was still a good core of locals giving the quarter its flavour. Then guided tours started. Which is basically someone telling halftrue shizz about the quarter and its history to a group of disneylandvisitors. Its so exciting and they wouldnt know better. The locals stopped going to the bars on weekends at some point, because of too many normies who once were scared of this dirty hood and its beggars and junkies. Rents rose, bars closed - the italian Mob came and started buying up the place to launder money with pizza. Nowadays as a local you can wander the Schanze on a sunny saturday and not meet a single soul you know. Its tourists looking at tourists and a bit of grafitti.

The Schanzenviertel is a good location for shopping, since there are a variety of different fashion and designer shops. The shops offer a variety of fashion, interior design, art and craft designs. Besides the products there are a lot of restaurants and cafes, which offer dishes around the world. The street art and some Graffitis in quarter is amazing.
