Amazing Little Irish Bar in the Centre of the City!

We were visiting Hamburg for our friend's birthday and came across the Shamrock by sheer chance on our way to the Dom. One of our friends had been there before and had told us it... read more

We were visiting Hamburg for our friend's birthday and came across the Shamrock by sheer chance on our way to the Dom. One of our friends had been there before and had told us it was worth a visit - he was most definitely right! We spent some time there on the Friday evening and had certainly chosen the right... If you like dive bars which show sports then this is your place! Cheap drinks and friendly owner. Not everyone's cup of tea.

The most positive thing was they were offering the football match I wanted to watch (even if it was in a really small screen). Nothing to eat available but peanuts (neither other snacks). Dark and smoky place, with terrible light. At least price was reasonable.

Visited this little pub on our trip to Hamburg. Reason being, I am Welsh my husband is English and we were 2 weeks into my favourite time of year which is the 6 nations. Barstaff speak excellent English, they show all premiership football which made my Arsenal mad husband very happy and rugby mad wife even happier. It's an old... More

Awful service bar maid for offensive beer was flat smoky as hell. Couldn't tell where I was as it was too dark to see anything.

We have visited Irish bars in other German cities but this place was something else. The bar was dark and dirty with layers of peeling wall paper. It was impossible to see across the candlelit bar because of the thick cigarette smoke. We certainly won't be going back!!!!

After spending the afternoon in here I'm sure ive knocked 10 years off my life. The smoke is something else,we could just about see the screen through the haze of smoke. The place is dark and dirty and service horrific. If it wasn't for the fact the rugby and premier league football was on here, we wouldn't of stayed.

If you're looking for a shiny, hipster, scene pub with expensive cocktails and mood lighting, you're in the wrong place. This is a down-to-earth pub. No more, no less. EXCELLENT Guinness, great service, bit of entertainment most Friday's with some acoustic tunes and no pretentiousness at all. It's dark, it's old and it's characterful.

Terrible experience from the start. Never experienced such unfriendly miserable service. I politely asked for a half pint of Guinness to which the response was a wretched "Is that it!". Drank it very quickly, and left as soon as possible. Never again! Far superior pubs to visit elsewhere in the city.

Great craic, great service, great music and never a dull moment. Great for a quiet pint during the week, and everyone just seems friendly. Location is perfect, not too close and not. Too far from the Repeerbahn.
