A nice activity to do if you want to learn some interesting facts about the political workings of Hamburg... More

Worth a short visit. Go inside to the centre court and see the fountain. Cool on a hot day. Or sit in the square out front.

Well, like I said on the title. Must visit and take photo(s)! Also, in front of it, there's a van selling sliced potatoes ready to be fried into crisps. Unfortunately I didn't try it. Can somebody let me know if this should be the best regret of my life?

A stunning building in the heart of Hamburg. If you ask, you can get a tour in English. Well worth taking the time to have a look.

Talk about extravagant - when this place was built in the 1890's it must've broke the bank. The craftsmanship is amazing. The furnishings sublime. The size and number of glitzy rooms defies belief. Excellent tour in English. Loved it.

A beautiful building in an extremely central location. There is a very nice plaza outside where you can have crepes, beer, coffee or noodles from a range of street vendors.

As part of out walk we came across this beautiful structure. It is massive and walking around it took much time. We very much enjoyed the square and shops/restaurants around it. We had a quick look inside; it you have the time take the tour or at least check out the art work.

We used a combo tour on Trip Advisor that provided hop 0n-off bus with boat cruise of Alster and the Harbor. Great tours; lotts to see.

There was a remarkable exhibit of Nazi documents and policies when we visited so that made it quite interesting. The building is well worth a visit and the architecture is splendid.
