I think this is the finest park in europe! The view to the river is unbelievable! The point of interest is the white jenisch in the center of the park.

This beautiful garden is worth visiting just for enjoying the landscape. But there is more, a secret gem: The Barlach Haus.
There are bigger and better known museums in Hamburg. But there are good reasons that the author John le Carré, very familiar with Hamburg made this place a favourite retreat of one his heroes.
A quiet place, a fine building, icon of early postwar architecture, hidden away in the the romantic Jenisch Park is a good alternative to the bustling city worth visiting just for the atmosphere.
The standing exhibition of the expressionist sculptures of Ernst Barlach is small but very impressive. Among prewar sculptors carving in wood Barlach is unrivalled. Most of the time there are temporary exhibitions of contemporary sculptures of high quality. There are few visitors, the mood is meditative and nothing interferes with your concentration. The staff is friendly and open to your questions.

Contrasting to the white cube of the Barlach Haus is the Jenisch Haus opposite, an exquisite classicistic mansion of the early 19th century.

Close to the museum there is a friendly café with tables outside.

The Jenisch Park is located in Hamburgs most attractive housing area close to the river Elbe. Going there by car or bus you drive on the famous Elbchaussee, where palace like mansions are witnesses of the golden age of the trading city, many of which were built by shipowners or captains and through the trees of their well groomed parks you can catch a glimpse on the river and the ships still passing.

If you want to see more of river and ships it is not far to Teufelsbrück, a viewpoint with restaurants and a jetty, where you can go back to the city by boat.

By visiting the Barlach Haus in the Jenisch Park you may get closer to the essence of Hamburg than by taking the tour to the more common tourist places.

Beautiful park especially when the weather is good. You'll see mostly people walk their dogs there. It's a huge park, good for walking, running & biking.

What a lovely place to meet with friends on a summer day. You can have barbecue, some beers or play some football. Its a very nice public green area, where everybody is positive and relaxed. If you dont know where to go on a summerday for picknick, try this one. We had some awesome days there.

A lovely park located to the west of the city centre. There are some woodland walks and stretches of open lawn to picnic on with views of the Elbe and the grand house (now art gallery) whose grounds this once belonged to. There is a popular small cafe in the grounds near the house.

This is a lovely park. So peaceful to sit on the lawn and look out at the Elbe on a nice day. I didn't visit the Jenisch House or the Ernst Barlach House in the park ... but I'm looking forward to that next time I visit Hamburg!

Jenischpark is a lovely spot for weekend trips with a wonderful view of Elbe. You can also visit museums inside or have a cup of coffee at the cafe of Jenisch Haus. It is 15 minutes walk to reach from S Bahn stop at Klein Flottbek.

Being in the western part of Hamburg, which by itself is very green, the expectation from this park was high. However, I was really disappointed visiting it.

Amazingly this park does not have any section of flowers. It is all about trees and lawns and a couple of small streams. This place is good for jogging, or training your dogs, nothing more.

Could have been much better, given the area it has and the proximity it has with the Elbe's beach.

This is a lovely way to spend a day with family and a picnic in the park. Beautiful and serene you will not want to leave. End it with a ferry back to the city center.

Visited often and walked a lot with my family, when my child was very little.

Very beautiful in spring and summer.
But also beautiful in autumn and winter.
It means you can enjoy the beauty of this landscaped park anytime throughout a year!

Worth to visit!!
