This was an amazing museum. It was shocking to experience the tight space of a u-boat. I would suggest that you would have to be a little bit fit, to move through the narrow porthole doorways. Very interesting.

Worth seeing. It's amazing how all the crew members fit there.
There were no English tours available, but even alone it worth exploring.

Honestly I'm a little bias when it comes to this becuase it's always been on my bucket list to visit a submarine.
It was quite out of our way and not that easy to get to by public transit coming from where we were staying. Once there we bought our tickets and got to explore the whole things by ourselves. There is so much history here and it was so cool to see first hand what it would have been like to be in one.
Just to say you've been in one is worth taking the trip here if you aren't too much into history of the U-boats.

This was on my to do list for my weekend in Hamburg and I am very glad I went.
It was January and getting dark and this was probably a blessing as it was not very busy, the lady in the ticket office/shop was friendly and helpful.
It is an atmospheric visit, I did not take the tour, you can stop and investigate whatever takes your interest, many features are labelled but often self explanatory. Even when not busy it is kind of a one way system so don't be in too much of a hurry to get along. The sound effects on the boat like the noise of the engine room add to the experience. You do need to be a little spry to get through some of the hatches and up and down ladders. Highly enjoyable.

Fascinating Visit

The submarine is absolutely fascinating, although it's a shame that an English tour wasn't available. The visit is not long (30 mins or so) but is really interesting.
Definitely not my idea of a fun military service :)

Real authentic Russian U-Boat from the Cold War era. Not for the claustrophobic, nor the large and tall, since the portals are very small. The tours are in German so there's little info given to the English speakers.

Nice visit

Interesting visit, the state of the submarine is perfect as it is little restored and can be seen as it was at the time.

The only thing to emphasize the treatment of the Tourist Guide, she was very edge, rude and unpleasant.

We will return but without tourist guide.

We really enjoyed our guided tour of the Museum. It was all in German, but the guide (who was friendly and well-informed) paused at suitable intervals for me to translate for my English friends. Without the guide it might have been less interesting, as there were few written explanations, but still an interesting experience.

Only took 40 minutes but worth the price aa not many places you can walk through submarine.
Not much in in the way of English signage. Staff spoke English ok. Small, limited shop but expensive.
