Amazing atmosphere in one of the best stadium spirit in the world. Incredible to see fans singing and supporting their club no matter what is happening on the pitch. I have visited more than 500 stadium around the world. One of the best game atmosphere I have ever seen.

We booked a personalised English speaking tour and were taken round the stadium by Birgit who was an excellent guide providing an informative history of SV Hamburg, their fans and the stadium itself. Great to get 'behind the scenes' as well as pitch-side and an added bonus that the 1st team was training whilst we were there too. Were made to feel really welcome by all the staff and well worth a visit if you're a football fan

Because of the European Championships in Germany, we went to the Poland-Netherlands match in HSV's Volkspark Stadium. It is a very accessible stadium with a good view of the field and a good ambiance. I should know, because I have been to many stadiums at home and abroad. Sufficient catering and toilets.
Parking by car is not possible within a short distance. We had a hotel nearby, the SYLC. apartment hotel 40 minutes walk from the stadium. We were able to leave the car in the hotel parking garage. The hotel is also close to the supply and return roads in Hamburg. The metro stops a little further than our hotel.

For many years I went to all the trouble to see "my" HSV play. Huge sums of money were spent on tickets, drinks and food. The "stadium experience" on October 21, 2023 against led left me speechless once again. The journey (email from HSV in advance: "Please do not travel by car" followed by "S-Bahn traffic is restricted") was once again a horror. Around the stadium there are a few stalls with overpriced beer (now even more expensive outside at 5.50 than inside at 5 euros) and very questionable food from the grill. Once you are in the stadium, you realize that many of the stalls were not even open. You then stand in a plain, cold and drafty "circuit" and try to bridge the time until kick-off. There were no toilets near our seats in block 2A and when you finally found some after wandering around for a long time, they were marked "out of order" with a note on the door. It's clear that huge queues form in front of the other toilets... A lot of visitors tried to urinate outside the stadium in the adjacent green areas during half-time, but were denied re-entry... Others (like me) didn't get back to their seats until about 15 minutes after the game had restarted.
After the game, you have to walk a long way to the car park or the S-Bahn. There are no decent places to eat around the stadium other than the stalls, the whole area looks like an industrial area. Well, what wouldn't you do for "your" club (although I'm going to take a break first).

the away from the stadium to the only s track is a pure disaster - all people have to go through an underpass which is 200 meters - a needle eye of life is dangerous !!!! Has nothing been learned from the incidents in Duisburg ??? I went to the Taylor Swift concert - of course 50,000 people also have to leave the stadium , I've been to far bigger events with many more participants - and nowhere have I had such a bad experience coming home from the stadium . That this is so tolerated by the authorities and the city of Hamburg is a mystery to me !!!

We were able to enjoy the Hannover96 vs HSV game in the VIP West.
A great and exciting game, great atmosphere in the stadium. The fans really create a good atmosphere.
The service in the VIP area was good, everyone was very friendly and accommodating.
The lounge area and the rooms are reminiscent of HSV's successful years in the early 2000s, but unfortunately they are showing their age and are less attractive/stylish.
The selection of drinks and food was very generous, although the food was unfortunately not very tasty.
The "padded seats" in the business area were normal stadium seats, there was no padding.
At half-time and after the game, the food was quickly sold out and only some of the food was refilled.
Drinks and food were supposed to be available up to 2 hours after the end of the game, but this was no longer possible 45 minutes after the final whistle and we were asked to slowly vacate the area.
All in all, a great evening, but the high price of the tickets unfortunately does not do justice to the service and offer.

The VIP-West business area at HSV unfortunately has the charm of a school cafeteria, although this is an insult to many school cafeterias.

Between two tables the passage width is about 60cm.
Rücklings has physical contact with the guests at the next table.
Here, HSV has more than just maxed out the space available.

You also have maximum physical contact with your seatmates on the grandstand seats. Armrests and / or cup holders are unfortunately searched for here in vain.

Unfortunately, HSV will no longer be allowed to welcome us as VIP guests. There are enough other clubs that try much harder for their guests.

Unfortunately, the good food and the good selection don't make the experience any better.

Too bad HSV, once and not again.

Went here for two Taylor Swift shows. Terrible experience. This place would be razed if it was in the US. Small 6 stall bathrooms for thousands of people. Cash only concessions. Be prepared to wait in line for at least an hour for either bathroom or concessions before a show. I have knee issues and had a brace and bathrooms were far and up 4 flights of stairs. Security was lacking. Getting out was a nightmare. Worst concert experience of my life venue-wise.

I came to see Metallica here and was shocked by the fact that none of the stalls or vendors or fixed bars inside or outside of the venue took digital payment or qr code payment or credit card only cash!

I haven't used cash for 5 years but then I live in modern Singapore and Asia not backwards Hamburg.

How can they not take digital payments?

Who only has cash?!

So this meant I cluldn't buy any drinks after my VIP drinks tokens had run out! Bizarre customer service. There was also no where to take cash out from!

Terrible customer experience.

Also there was minimal security which meant everyone at the back of the stands in the seats didn't keep to their seat row and came down to my level in the front and aggressively blocked my views and pushed into our rows and those around us.

There was no securioty in sight to ask for help.

I left early as a resuly as it was not a pleasurable way to experience a concert.

Choose another more modern European destination instead and give this venue a miss.

Booked a stadium tour here. Have to pre book an English speaking tour guide. He was great fun, new his stuff and could give and take jokes with our group. Duration was about right. Would have liked to have seen the home dressing room though.
