Everyone is very kind and the bar is great but the staff at the wardrobe is horrible. I couldn't find my ticket right away and instead of helping they started to insult me even though I even had a photo of the ticket and also found the ticket a little later...

If you're visiting hamburg to party and you're planning your trip then obviously the reeperbahm is on the list!? Then you should include this place as the central focus for one of the nights. It only opens at 6 and becomes lively at about 10 but get there sooner rather than later. Watch out for live acts in a very good function room downstairs and it has pool and video games to keep people occupied. Great selection of beers, Guinness, magners and Heineken are all very good and there a good selection of whiskies. Great all round pub in the bottom part of the strip.

We enjoyed a great night out last new year's event. The Reeperbahn was crazy, people everywhere and long queues for the big clubs. We wanted something in between and booked our tickets for the Thomas Read in advance (tickets were available at the door though). The atmosphere was great, lots of people but never too crowded. Greatest thing is that this is a pub, disco and club in one, with three different areas. Whatever your mood, you'll be satisfied.

The views of fireworks from the balcony / rooftop terrace are limited though, so don't expect to see much of the craziness from there.

My friends and I were involved in a homophobic attack here which left my friend battered and bleeding, whilst two of my girlfriends were viciously thrown down a hallway. The female manager on duty at the time asked our party to leave despite knowing full well the attackers were outside waiting for us. She also refused to call the police for assistance (us being an English group were unsure of what to say). No other staff members came to our aid either, they just stood and watched.... I wouldn't be surprised if someone was filming the attack on their phone. I hope that the female manager on duty is absolutely ashamed of herself for the way she handled the situation and that more people become aware of this place.

Was subject to a homophobic attack at this bar and was shown no compassion by the management, in fact they asked me to leave knowing that the attackers were outside! Will never go back, and hope the manager present is ashamed of herself!!!!

Great pub, bar staff were awesome dealing with and joining in with our rugby club outing while dealing with another two stag parties. We made this our base on the long weekend in Hamburg.

The pub is a bit hidden, up a very long flight of stairs in the Reeperbahn district of Hamburg, but well worth the trip.

Let me preface by saying, that I live in Dublin and been to over 200 pubs in Ireland. in terms of decoration and interior, this is as close as you will get in Hamburg, now since Finnegans Wake is closed down.

The selection of beers is a bit small, but you do get your Guinnes, Kilkenny, your irish Ciders and a nice, cheap own brand of beer.

The whiskey sekection on the other hand is absolutely fantastic and one of the largest I found in Hamburg. From the big name brands like Jameson, to the more crafty ones there is whiskey for everyone.

When we went, the owner was tending the bar and offered us samples of multiple whiskeys for free until we found one to settle. And did so with a smile and lots of jokes.

Don't let the location and exterior fool you, this is one of the best pubs in Hamburg.

We went there on a Saturday night for partying after a sports event. For the mandatory admission fee of 5€, you’ll get a free shot to ensure a good start :-) The live music was absolutely great: A singer/songwriter on one, and a cover-band on the lower floor… they all played cover music and everybody will sing along after a few beers. The nice and warm, but still very energetic atmosphere is just perfect if you want to sing, dance and party with your friends all night long!

Went to this bar as I was supposedly an Irish bar ,the staff member was disgraceful and gave us 2 pints which had no head and looked like they had been poured 2 months ago .when we complained he took the drink off us and drank a little bit and said it's fine before he threw it down the sink,I asked for a manager and he said their is none which is absolutely crazy,.
Would avoid this pub at all costs.

If you want to see a pint of Murphy's served to you in 15 seconds at room temperature, then this is the place to go. Other than the Irish music and decor, there's nothing remotely genuine about this place (they even have a "beach bar" .. in an Irish theme pub!! )

Credit card machine didn't work either.
