At first it seemed impossible that this place could hold all those people. I mean it seemed so small. When you get in, you'll see that there is a balcony, going from one side of the stage to the other.
I think that the number was around 1000-1500, but not sure.

If you want excellent view, use the balcony. But it gets hot, so you need to drink some water (There is a bar located in the middle of the balcony).

At the floor, there wasn't that much space, but the intimacy with the band is awesome.

The sound engineer is the key to the whole experience and here he was exquisite, so it goes without saying that the sound on the floor and balcony was gr8, although the bass sometimes went into the Red Zone.

The band it self was excellent, although i think that most of the audience wanted more of the old stuff.

From Copenhagen by train; 4 hours. .

So take your turn at some german culture;
Check out the band list visiting Große Freiheit 36 and join in.
I know i will.

This is one of the clubs where the Beatles were playing when they stated their career in Hamburg. From outside it is somewhat ugly, but still there is good music inside.

Saw a few bands here over our many visits. Historical as Beatles played here and venue is still up the re with some of the best around.

Situated at the bottom of the Reeperbahn it is in the middle of a war zone after dark, but well worth the visit

Where once there were several churches (from here the name Great Freedom) and is now a place full of night clubs, cabarets, bars etc. Until recently it had several live sex theaters (Can you imagine ?!). There is still a Catholic church on the site, The St. Joseph’s (weird huh ?!). In this street lies several famous places like DollHouse, the Beatles-Platz, a small square with sculptures of the English band who began his career playing in the houses of Grosse Freiheit, where they played for two years before they reach the world. Some of these houses are still open like the Star-Club, Kaiserkeller and Indra-Musikclub.

Went to Hamburg specialy to see Damon Albarn - he was fantastic as expected.

The venue is great - and as a 500+ gig veteran of someone who has lived in London on/off for 25 years, this place is right up there with the most atmospheric music venues in the world.

Good sound
Good draft beer in hafl-pints
Friendly security
Good location

Damon was awesome and so was the venue!

Situated at the far end of the reeperbahn, from the outside it looks run down. However don't let that effect what is a great music venue, the sound quality is excellent. Watched two door cinema club. Staff and security are friendly. Worth a flight to watch any band play.

A night out in Reeperbahn & had to stop by here considering its connection with the Beatles. A selection of dance-floors with varying genres of music catering to different tastes. Plenty of bars offering the usual selection. Standard club night out to be honest. I would like to return though when they host a live music gig.

Brilliant live show from US singer-songwriter Kip Moore. Good security, easy to find the venue. Good price beer. We travelled from UK.

turned up for salsa dance. first off the line, the bouncer did not want to speak in English. then after a while they said you need a woman to get into the club. (Couples only). then I saw they let in a few white guys. Racist place. Dont spend money there.
