The Automuseum PROTOTYP presents the fascination of motorsport in a very emotional way. Around 45 beautifully shaped sports and racing cars are presented as well as the history of the legendary drivers and the ingenious constructors of these cars. At the cafe of the museum you can have a refreshing break before you discover the cinema of the museum or the driving simulator – a real Porsche 356.

Great museum, tastefully done, a lot of interesting stories and beautiful cars, much more interesting than e.g. Maritimes museum. Here you definitely leave with a lot of information and a good feeling, even if you don't know cars very much. I don't understand any of...More

The cars were well presented with lots of information about their history and design. There were a few interactive things for kids but not many, the aerodynamics demonstration where they could change wooden cars to see which was most aerodynamic was a favourite for us....More

If the phrase "Porsche 356" means nothing to you, this probably isn't the place for you. Coming from a culture with many free museums, this definitely isn't one and it isn't huge, so you need to appreciate what there is. The entrance level is a...More

Saw a leaflet for this and thought go for it. 15 min walk from the Miniature Wonderland. Not a very large museum, but has a good selection of vehicles from the 40's onwards. Range covers - racing, rallying and passenger cars. There was an extra...More

Small but interesting collection of mostly Porsche's. All of the cars look fantastic and the display in my opinion seems well thought out and flows nicely. I found the entrance was difficult to find as I thought it was the entrance to a cafe originally....More

It is roughly 13 Euro to get in and I wouldn't say it's worth its money... mostly all cars in the place are Porsches so the place is ideal for Porsche lovers. It is not suitable for kids.

When we first researched where we wanted to go in Hamburg we had a long list of things. Because of the incredibly cold weather however we decided that we'd stick to museums for the first day - so with two car fans amongst us we...More

First off, the museum is reached from the Hafenstadt U-Bahn station (if arriving by public transport), which at the moment is still effectively surrounded by building sites. I was glad to have maps on my phone - it would not have been particularly easy to...More
