About
The Automuseum PROTOTYP presents the fascination of motorsport in a very emotional way. Around 45 beautifully shaped sports and racing cars are presented as well as the history of the legendary drivers and the ingenious constructors of these cars. At the cafe of the museum you can have a refreshing break before you discover the cinema of the museum or the driving simulator – a real Porsche 356. The ratio of the number of visitors to the exhibition space as well as the presentation of the exhibits and a solid hygiene concept offer optimal conditions for a relaxed cultural experience even under Corona editions.

Firstly, I wouldn't even call this is a museum and its more of a showroom for a few exotic cars. There were probably 25-30 cars spread over 2 floors of a building and a basement for pictures and memorabilia. Considering that I paid only 15 euros for miniatur wonderland, the 14.5 euros charge for this was quite steep and definitely not worth it. The only consolation was Michael Schumacher's Jordan F1.

High-quality museum, emphasis on Volkswagen and Porsche and German car history. So there are not only prototypes in the museum.
Beautiful building, spread over several floors. Not a large collection, but with attention. Judging by the photos, the exhibition appears to change regularly. Enthusiastic employees.

Very nice collection of cars, both prototypes, wind tunnel models and cars that have been in use. Mainly cars of the VW Group, in particular Porsche. However, a few Italians and a little more.
Also the opportunity to immerse yourself in car history and how production has taken place. Most of their signs have been translated into English, however many books and articles are only in German. If you keep looking only at the cars themselves, it is still worth the trip.

This museum is far better than most - really nicely laid out - lots to see and lots to learn. Not too much interactivity so you need to be satisfied with information as the interaction.

So many special cars have been acquired for the museum - great!!

I went on a rainy day and it’s perfect for that.

We visited on a Sunday, & found it fairly quiet. The building itself seems fairly new, and there’s several levels here, so don’t forget to look in the lower levels before you leave!
The simulator is good (perhaps too accurate, as I struggled to get out of the mud!) though you’ll need to queue at busy times. Most displays are in German, though there was enough English for me to appreciate the exhibits.
A good way to spend 1-2 hours.

A very interesting place if you like Porsche cars, some rare examples and also a few supercars. Not as many cars as I expected but the place is very clean and modern with some nice examples. Worth an hour or so to wander round. I did notice that they did have computerised archives not sure what is in them but I assume all Porsche info

A nice building with very well thought-out displays, friendly staff, a reasonably-priced gift shop (that's refreshing!) and a small area for coffee and snacks.
Not just a collection of beautiful cars (mostly Porsche and VW) but also cool memorabilia!
Just the right amount of people, not crowded at all. Comfortably seen in 2 hours.
Definitely worth the price and highly recommended!
Already mentioned it to my friends.
PS: simulator is nice too!

If you are in the area and have an hour spare then i can highly suggest a visit to this small museum. It is only 10 euros and although small i do not think that this is overpriced at all. The main hall level is the best and has a variety of ages of cars, mostly Porsche's but also some other unique ones that i am sure are scarce to see in the world. Really clean and modern museum and suits all ages. Some really nice cars and interesting items. Only takes an hour to get around the whole lot tbh. Toilets are clean and their is a cafe on site too. Well worth a visit.

For a car guy this is a must see. Great museum with a lot of beautiful cars. But it's a bit expensive to get in. When we visited the basement exhibit were of early racing cars. Loved the smell of oil there
