This was the first professional musical I'd ever seen, and wow, it set an IMPOSSIBLE standard!
We went by car and would recommend arriving a couple of hours early. We had to wait a little to get into the parking lot, but had we arrived just 15 minutes later, we would have gotten stuck in the whirlwind of people going in and out.
The musical itself was stunning! Professionally done, super high-quality energy and production, and a creative stage interpretation of a Disney classic. Some performances were stronger than others, but even without one of the performers, regardless of role, the entire musical would not have worked. That is really powerful.
Would definitely recommend!

The musical and performance as such are excellent, really worth seeing it.
Also the transfer from and to Landungsbrücken worked fine without waiting time.
Negative point is the price for beverages and foods, just to give 1 example; 3,50€ for a small bottle of still water is simply exaggerated!

The show itself was nice, but what left a nasty aftertaste was the usher who,
right during the iconic opening act that I had been looking forward to for weeks,
made her way into the middle of the audience (disturbing I don't know how many other patrons on her way) and placed herself smack in front of me, insisting most rudely that I had been taking pictures (which I had not) and refusing to leave me alone until I showed her my phone. And it's a good thing I had it on me - the person next to me had simply left their phone at home, and I wonder whether they would have gotten kicked out entirely for being 'uncooperative' if the usher had picked on them. If you want to come here, be prepared for a 'guilty until proven innocent' attitude, and better make sure that there's nothing in your gallery that you don't want random strangers to see. Is this even legal? But beyond the disruption itself, what made this most galling was wondering what the point of the whole affair was.
Are the higher-ups who make such policies really afraid that, if someone were to take one blurry picture from the back of the room and post it online, that nobody would buy their tickets any more because they had already seen it all online?
You'd think that they would strive to make the onsite experience special enough that private snapshots couldn't compete, but apparently not. A word of advice: If you're looking for a friendly experience in Hamburg, consider Miniaturwunderland instead - they understand how to interact with their visitors in a positive way.

Wonderful experience! The 3 hours of the show simply fly by. The costums and music played are amazing, for kids as well as adults! If you have the chance to have tickets, do not hesitate.
Biggest draw back: the price of the drinks and food you'll find there.

We have never had such an experience! We phoned the official booking line in English and asked for 3 tickets for adults and one for a child. We specifically asked if our 2 year old could attend the show. We were instructed that he could and would not require additional ticket. We pick up our tickets at the booking office half an hour before the show, we walk in only to be told that we can not go in because our son is too young and we are asked to leave. We try to explain to the manager that we have paid nearly 500 euros in tickets alone for the evening ( a special occasion). We are told we might not get a refund, but it's not her problem. Again we explain that we will not leave until the issue is sorted. It took us phoning the ticket office from our personal phone and explaining the situation as the so called manager did nothing. No help, no understanding that we have spent money on hotel rooms and have ruined the trip. No token of good will, no apology. My son was in tears because he was looking forward to the show. They didn't even offer him a small toy from their overpriced gift shop. They could not wait to kick us out. For a company that is meant to be inviting to children, this was utterly disgusting, and staff need to be trained in customer service!!! We weren't asked details of the situation we were just told it is our fault and they can't do anything about it! Sadly that our first time to hamburg has been hindered by this. I think we'll stick to staying in Denmark going forward. Much better manners.

Went with my husband and mother in law earlier this year and we thoroughly enjoyed the musical! The woman playing the wise old monkey had a voice that gave me goosebumps! It changed the way we view musicals, from finding them boring, we turned to active seekers for good musicals!

Great show for sure! Taking a trip across the water to get there adds a whole new level and the performance was stunning. But be prepared to pay a pretty penny for food, drink, wardrobe etc... It's an interesting but expensive experience and always super crowded.

We loved the very second of the show! However as we enjoyed the restaurant with its magnificent view , elegant setup ,fair priced drinks but some of the worst food ever, I had to remove one star. - folks - stick with drinks and a fantastic show - don’t try a wannabe curry or the burger- both are cheapest ABC Cuisine ...
highlights - stunning show, ferry, athmosphere, and the drinks in the restaurant with great view of Hamburg skyline
- stay away from food ( better have it before or after in near Portuguese quarter eg “A Varina” ) or in any of the restaurants close to landungsbruecken

It is a breathtaking performance. Very beautiful costumes, lighting and music. After watching it, I have a feeling to visit Africa.

A great Musical even after this long time. To reach by ferry it will be early enough to leave "Landungsbrücken" 30-40 Min. in advance, even to have a drink before. More important is probably to choose the right seats. If you look at the floor Map the best places are in the middle on Ground Floor row 5-13 also 4 chairs beside the walkthroughs to the left and right, lounges are second best if seat is in front or second row. more behind is not nice in my opinion, then better choose row 14+ on ground floor.

Can you get cheap tickets at the moment like in London? The ones where youre standing
Written February 15, 2018
Does anyone have a location map for Box office, because I have to go to Box office with Identify card to pick up the ticket. in your experience, if the show is 18:30, when is the best time to arrive the box office to get the ticket because I am afraid I can not find the Box office and crowded. Can I get there on time if I want to board the theather'Transportation (the lion king ship), and pick up the ticket because the time is rush, and if there is no ticket and only proof of the ticket, can I get on the boat, sorry, too many questions, thanks for the answer.
