- WandererHolbeach, United Kingdom396 contributionsLovely autumn walkLovely park area with lots of areas to explore and great for the family with childrens play areas too. Staff in the kinder snacks shack were a little abrupt about us not having cash to pay. Little odd. some areas of the park are toilets paid for and others are free to use. Park itself well maintained and a nice spot to walk through on an autumn day, albeit when a lot of plants beginning to be past their best.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 9, 2023
- Ernie HCardiff, United Kingdom2,209 contributionsPleasant walkUsed the park a few times as a route to a destination as it was more pleasant than pounding the pavements. Entered by Dammer train station and came out by the Orthodox Russian Church near the courts. Not much activity in Autumnal months, which is nice actually.Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 18, 2023
- barbara t9 contributionsEscape the city to a beautiful green haven full of flowers (in season!)Beautiful green space for walking relaxing and contemplation. Lovely paths and seating areas where you can explore the scenery. Doesn't feel like you are in the city. Highly recommended for plant lovers gardeners and anyone who like to spend time outdoors.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten March 24, 2024
- GemsNIArmagh, United Kingdom648 contributionsBeautiful park and blooms near the centre of Hamburg. We visited this beautiful park in April/May time with the rhododendron in full bloom. We got the u-bahn to Stephansplatz. Signs throughout the park to point you to the various sights. The weather was beautiful so the park had lots of people milling about. The Japanese gardens were worth the visit alone. Take your time and wander at your ease, bring a picnic if you can!Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 5, 2024
- GoAlong2Seattle, Washington893 contributionsFlowers and pathsThis large park on the north side of the city center hosts several formal and informal garden areas. I enjoyed wandering the paths through flower gardens, waterways, a Japanese garden and a formal rose garden. I was there during the jazz festival and heard good music at several of the stages. There is a large musical fountain on a pond in the garden that does a show every evening with music and lights. There are several cafes and ice cream stands throughout the park as well as a large playground for the kids.Visited June 2024Traveled soloWritten August 1, 2024

It would have been a one day thing but I got short on time and wanted to see the Hamburg Museum since did a once over the park area and missed the Greenhouse area. So today, I took the time to get better directions and took a bus. It was walkable from my hotel but I wanted to try finding my way with transit.
The park is nice and I think it will be lovely when spring and summer hits.
Wonderful to be so close to the city and get some moments of respite from hustle and bustle.
Ponds and all kinds of walk paths are available.
Close to public transit.

The most amazing botannical gardens you will see, definitely in Germany. Huge variety of plants, well looked after. Rose garden, Japanese garden, Amazing fountains. Lots for kids to do. They have open air music concerts on some days. Cafes for a rest.

This park really has it all: gorgeous gardens, beautiful buildings and statues, losts of space for recreation, nice playgrounds, toilets, free entry, you name it. We went on a sunny saturday in July and it was such a wonderful experience. The botanical garden and the Japanese garden especially are very beautifully designed, it makes you wonder how the architect could have such a beautiful vision and realise it too. You can really spend a day in this park alone and not get bored, it is that good.

This is really a wonderful place to spend half a day wandering around watching all the beautiful flowers and wonderful old trees. There are several cafes where you can have a snack, and several playgrounds if you come with kids.
There are areas with different themes - a japanese garden, an apothecary garden with herbs and a rose garden to mention a few.

We saw a red squirrel, nuthatch, terrapins etc in this beautiful park. Lots of lovely water features, trees & plants with lots of seating thoughtfully scattered around and at cafes. A super spot that we really e noted exploring with the locals on a sunny day. Wonderful and a definite must.

I went at the late in Sept, there was not a lot going on in the park.
I saw lots of people enjoying the park, singles, families and couples, and dogs.
It has lots of restrooms, benches artwork and water features.
It has a chess area including a giant chess board, mini golf, play grounds for the kiddos, skating rink and a Zip Wire.

the light show is nice but nothing spectacular. We went for the 6pm water show, then for a meal and then back to the light/music show at 9pm - nice evening entertainment but could improve. The park is lovely designed but lacks of good lightning after dark.

Is there something special here on New Years Eve?
Written December 28, 2017
I have no idea. But as there are several arrangements during summertime I would not be surpriced if there will be arrangements also this time of the year. //Niklas
