About
The Panik City is a unique multimedia experience about the life and work of Udo Lindenberg - one of Germany’s most prolific, famous and successful performing artists. Situated in the St. Pauli Klubhaus at the heart of Hamburg’s entertainment district on the Reeperbahn. Visitors are invited to take a 90 minute tour through Panik City in groups of up to 20 people. Tours start every half hour and are held in German language only. Through multivision storytelling, 270° video projection, singing with a virtual Udo, augmented reality, interactive painting and virtual reality, visitors get to touch, hear and see Udo as they have never seen him before in six rooms over 700m². Panik City reveals the personal and political side of the man behind the rock legend and is designed for all age groups, fans and anyone interested in rock n’ roll, pop music, art, culture and German history.

The tour was entertaining and extremely interesting. I was very disappointed. The advertising, the reviews and the extremely enterprising guides promise you the ultimate experience. The reality is different. Yes, different media are used. But these are films that are shown on a screen, on a tablet or on several screens in the room. The rooms are usually cheaply decorated: the "GDR room" is a simple white room with a Trabant in it, which is not even Udo's original. I doubt whether the legendary guitar for Honecker (guitars instead of creaking) is really the original. Unfortunately, I couldn't even finish watching the last film on the tablet that was handed to me to scan the objects, which then triggered a short film. Then you were urged to move on. The next tour is coming up soon. In the Liqueur room there are a lot of brightly colored glasses, not liqueurs. You can use your fingers to color in Udo's drawings using 5 colors on a "painting table" a la Windows Paint and then send them to yourself by email. But only if you don't make a typo in your haste. According to the announcement, you can send as many as you can manage. There was just enough time for one picture. Unfortunately, I must have mistyped the email address in my haste, so I didn't get anything. The song with Udo in the recording studio goes like this: a film with an announcement from Udo and then the group sings a chorus "Do my thing," that's it. You are filmed while doing it, and you can download the film later. I haven't tried whether the download works yet, I'm not that keen on it.
The only really nice feature were the virtual reality glasses and the show with Udo on stage. Before that part starts, however, there is a normal film, so there were only a few minutes left for the virtual stage. Explain to your people or children beforehand what virtual reality glasses are, our guide didn't do it. My son didn't get it at all. But they help immediately when putting the glasses on and if there are technical problems.
The films were mostly well-known documentary material, combined with current commentary from Udo, which was still quite good and entertaining.
Conclusion: rip-off by and with Udo Lindenberg! A lot is promised, a multimedia spectacle without equal. Well, as I said, I was very, very disappointed.

Unser Multimedia-Erlebnis zielt darauf ab, verschiedene Medien in einem einzigartigen Rahmen zu präsentieren – von Filmen auf verschiedenen Bildschirmen bis hin zu interaktiven Elementen wie Tablets und VR-Brillen. Jeder Raum wurde von talentierten Künstler*innen gestaltet, um eine einzigartige Atmosphäre zu schaffen, sei es durch handbemalte Flaschen für den Likörelle-Raum oder eigens entwickelte Kulissen in den einzelnen Räumen.
Zu den Ausstellungsstücken, wie dem Trabi und der Gitarre, möchten wir klarstellen, dass Udo Lindenberg uns großzügigerweise eine Kopie des Trabis als Blickfang geschenkt hat. Die Gitarre ist zweifelsfrei authentisch und nachweislich original. Wir bedauern, dass es hier zu Missverständnissen kam.
In Bezug auf die interaktiven Stationen wie den Likörellen-Raum und das Tonstudio mit Udo Lindenberg: Unser Ziel ist es, den Gästen ein facettenreiches Erlebnis zu bieten, wobei technische Unterstützung jederzeit verfügbar ist, wenn Probleme auftreten.
Die von uns produzierten Filme und die Verwendung von Dokumentarmaterial sollen einen umfassenden Einblick in Udo Lindenbergs Welt bieten. Wir sehen es als Kompliment, dass diese Inhalte mittlerweile von anderen Dokumentationen aufgegriffen wurden.

All 4 of us were thrilled! In Panik City you experience Udo's life, concerts, hobbies, family... up close and together with Udo. Everything with modern media and very exciting, Udo "leads you" through the various stations :-)

A super place and a great tour - unique and innovative! The only downside is that the entrance fee is too high at 24.50 euros, you can leave directly in the shop (buy buy!) and you have to give a hat for a tip for the tour. Please pay people well for the entrance fee, then we can avoid this embarrassment. Otherwise, thank you, great!

It would be nice if the 30 minutes you SHOULD be there BEFORE the start were given as the start time. I spontaneously registered an hour beforehand and was there 15 minutes before the start... but 15 minutes late because you were supposed to be there 30 minutes beforehand and then I got yelled at. I only read in the email that you should be there earlier, but I only read that when I got there because, as I said, we registered spontaneously.
Afterwards I told friends about it and they said that exactly the same thing happened to them there a year ago. I'm sorry,,,, but they really should change that. Because it seems to happen often. But otherwise everything was great and I would be happy to do it again.

It was really great. The visitors are taken on an interactive journey through Udo's life. Very well done and presented in a very personable way. A MUST for all Udo fans and a very special aha experience for the others.

I'm not the biggest Udo Lindenberg fan but beeing in Hamburg made me visiting the museum. And I really enjoyed it. It's not so much a museum than a show. And it's done great. Lots of interaction and the time just flies by. Big recommendation.

Moin, unsere Touren können ab 8 Jahren besucht werden. Udo hat ja Fans in allen Altersgruppen. Deutsch als Sprache ist allerdings schon notwendig, da alle Filme und Inhalte auf Deutsch gezeigt werden. Englische Touren gibt es bei uns aktuell nicht.

we are sorry to tell you that Panik City is a German Guided Experiece since Udo Lindenberg is performing in German only and so all the lyrics are German...
He has an amaazing fancrowd in German-speaking countries, but it's rather small in other countries. That's why we decided to start with English.
