Planetarium Hamburg is one of the landmarks of Hamburg.Located in a historic water tower in the Stadtpark (city park), it features a unique combination of sophisticated technology. It is the world's first star theater to blend an immersive 3D image with 3D sound into a 360-degree overall experience. The Zeiss star projection, a digital 8K 3D full-dome projection, the 3D sound system and one of the world's largest showlaser- and lighting systems form the outstanding instrument for traveling with this "cruise ship of the senses".

Planetarium Hamburg offers a wide range of presentations for children, families and adults - to learn, to discover, to take off, to relax and unwind - and dream.

From the observation deck at a height of 60 meters, which is accessible by an express lift, the building also offers a great panoramic view of Hamburg. In addition a selection of drinks and food welcomes guests at the in-house Cafe Nordstern (with indoor and outdoor areas) .

There are numerous shows in the Hamburg Planetarium, we visited the Stairway To Heaven show. It was a very nice way to spend the evening by listening to great music and admiring mind blowing animations. The cost of admission is very reasonable at 12 euros.

We watched a show about the Gravity, incredible vision and sound effects plus simplified explanation for theories like "theory of relativity". Nice crew there also, feel warmly welcomed with all family members. Parking places are easily to be found. A combination visit can be done with a walk in the beautiful Stadtpark, if the weather is nice. Went there many... More

The planetarium is situated in a former water tower build in Art Deco architecture. Therefore it’s beautiful to watch from the outside. It’s also illuminated during the night sometimes. Unfortunately, at the moment it’s not possible to go inside due to reconstruction work (probably until the end of 2016). However, if you take a walk in the Stadtpark you have... More

A very extensive program, but the image quality is not impressed. We do not plan to go the second time.

I recently visited some ??? shows. These are very funny, since we only know them usually through the radio. But also the star shows are very good. They differ in the program and have beside the 3D show a good sound system.

Didn´t enter the planetarium but when to the viewing tower on top, which gives a great view of the city. Free to go up too.

I've been with my older kid who is an air&space enthusiast to Hamburg planetarium. The shows are really good and the place itself is very nice among the stadtpark. The only point to consider is that everything is in German. They could have given some headphones with live translation but that's I guess a point for them to consider.

First of all: Thanks for your good rating! Indeed we do have some shows in Englisch, French or Spanisch. It is worth to have a look at our homepage www.planetarium-hamburg.de before a visit to see if the running shows are available in your language. Best, the team of Planetarium Hamburg More

A beautiful brick building in the centre of the Park with a rooftop panorama of the city - well worth a visit! We've only visited to take in the rooftop views (you can climb the stairs or take the elevator to the top for FREE) :)

Since we do not have a Planetarium in Oslo, a visit to The one in Hamburg is always on the schedule if possible. I think Germans are very service-minded (compared to Norwegians). The people at the Panetarium were very helpful as I forgot to bring our booking which we bought three weeks ahead. The seats very comfortable, but it was very... More
