Apparently this place was made in the 18th century by a Dutchman called Jan Bouman who tried to attract Dutch workers to join him and work for the German emperor. The result is something that resembles classic medieval Dutch architecture, but at the same time...More

After our Berlin train ride, the Dutch Quarter (Hollandisches Viertel) was our first tourist attraction in Potsdam. I didn’t know anything about the area and just noticed a series of red brick houses in this very quiet neighbourhood. It was only after doing some research...More

Lovely walk around Potsdam, beautiful view of the Dutch style houses. A quarter built with Dutch style so that the Dutch people living in Potsdam could feel at home. Many café and shops in the area, nice walk, interesting to see the different architecture. Cool.

A lovely quarter that features nice shops, cafes etc in clean Dutch style historic houses. Not too big but big enough for an afternoon at least.

Nice street with lot of shops not related at all to Holland or Netherlands. Houses are well preserved and tidy. There is a traffic through he street so you can’t walk in the middle. If you are here, go and see. Otherwise nothing special.

The Dutch quarter is a row of over 130 Dutch style houses in Potsdam. The red-brick houses line both sides of the road and wouldn't be out of place in Holland. Apparently, the German king needed craftsmen to expand the city and found them in...More

Lovely quarter of Potsdam, over 100, mainly renovated buildings designed by Jan Bouman in first half of 18th century. Watch your ankles here, as in most of Potsdam city, due to cobbles. We were entertained by 2 lady street dancers in illuminated inflated costumes walking...More

Lovely area in Potsdam rebuilt in this typical redbrick Dutch style. Full of shops and places to eat. Clean and well kept. Lovely place to stroll on a beautiful sunny autumn day!
