Of course you should visit the mini-museum and find information about the history of this Russian settlement there. But you can also read about it on Wikipedia...
It is very relaxing (for those who like it) to spend time in the countryside, sweetened with ice cream or iced coffee from the small museum cafe.

Fantastic little Russian village in the middle of Potsdam. Very charming even in the winter and one can only imagine how gorgeous when fruit trees and flowers are in bloom. Impressive gardens surround each house. Tea house could not accommodate our large party of 8 and oddly enough was ran by people speaking German only... no English or Russian. I would have loved to have some tea , but overall, it’s worth a visit. Odd and awesome piece of history.

12 wooden houses, beautifully decorated, surrounded by large orchard gardens built for the King's Russian choir, very close to the Sans Souci Park.
Easily accessed by bus (603 or 638 from the Postdam main station). Another option is 5 mn' walk from bus stop Jägerallee (695).

We traveled around by the hop-on hop-off bus. It is not worth it to make a stop here, since you have to wait an hour for the next bus to come. Alexxandrowka is super small, all you have are just a few beautiful Russian-style houses.

This is such a pretty part of Potsdam, called the Russian colony it really is a taste of how we think old Russia must have been, now a world heritage site, it is so pretty, one of the houses is a small restaurant serving traditional food. I can imagine how beautiful it would look in the Autumn, absolutely timeless

Built as a residence for the Russian colony in the time of Friedrich II, these beautifully carved wooden houses remain as a 'living museum'. Worth seeing if you are interested in history/archtecture/Russia/Wooden things. One of them houses a restaurant serving original Russian food and drinks. We introduced our teenage children to this, and they loved it as much as we did.

We drove here and parked the car in the main street and just walked around taking photos of different houses. There is a restaurant with a nice garden in one of them and a small museum in another.

Very beautiful wooden houses in Russian style, just a view and was a house prison of Russian singer. Now is a complex of museum and tea house and restaurant. In Fall this place just like in fairy tales of witch house and in winter remind a lot to small Siberian village house.

The history of this colony is something else, the man loved the music, I just have one 'unexplained' question, if there are no males, who does it go to?

If you have the time, take the tram from the city center to this "colony" and admire traditional Russian houses. It will not take you more than one hour to visit.
Moreover, if you are hungry, there is a restaurant serving traditional dishes.
