The formal gardens are large and well laid out on the old vineyard site below the palace building framed by the disciples of Bacchus and flanked by the grave of Friedrich the Great (big fan of the potato apparently).

Very big park. You can easily walk for few hours in it. You'll also see the palace and other historical buildings

Treasures everywhere as said for the Sancoucci gardens and a very variegated succession of constructions everywhere. Again, I give 3 because there's no signage and it is very hard to navigate.

Very much enjoyed the gardens but it is a very large estate requiring lots of walking. Wear comfortable shoes and take your time. Easy to wear yourself out quickly here. Very pretty.

It is the end of March and all the flowers are beginning to bloom and the shrubbery become lively again. I enjoyed walking throughout the gardens. What a beautiful, peaceful place!

Getting to Potsdam from Berlin is easy, just take the train. Visit the gardens, they are beautiful. The have vines and roses and ols statues. The palace itself is small, not sure if it is worth a visit.

I believe Sanssouci Palace will be close but Sanssouci Park will be open. The Park is amazing so you will enjoy it very much. For more information please refer to their website (can't post a link in here sorry)
