Great for students of modern history.

The Potsdam Conference took place here and is one of the most important historical events of the 20th century. It is regarded worldwide as a symbol for the end of the Second World War and the outbreak of the Cold War, which led to the division of Europe through the “Iron Curtain” and the construction of the “Wall”. Lovely setting amid parkland and lakes.

Historical significance
Oct 2019 • Friends
The historic importance of this palace gave me goose bumps. Just being in the very same room that Stalin Churchill and Truman were in planning the future Of post war Europe was ethereal. The palace was built around 1914 and is beautifully maintained. They do a good job showing you the historical political aspects but there’s so much more. Very much enjoyed this place.

You come here for the history of the Potsdam Conference
Feb 2020
Although this is an historic building for a long time, it is best known as the venue for the Potsdam Conference

You have to go round with a group, and we got English headsets, while the rest had the German guide to expound on things. The guide, I might add . was less than convivial, and gave the impression that she dd not like foreigners.

The Potsdam Conference was historic, and if you are in Berlin, a day trip to Potsdam is recommended. It is easy to do on the S-Bahn using the ABC ticket, which also allows you to use the buses and trams in Potsdam - a bus takes you from the city centre to Cecilienhof

Our tour started here. I didn’t have time to do the tour indoors but well worth visiting again. Historically significant for WWII enthusiasts. Lovely area to walk around.

Historic, But One Leader Came Out So Much Better Than He Should Have
Jan 2020
Sadly, today's generation simply wants to remove the blemishes of mankind's past mistakes as Confederate statues are being destroyed, defaced, and taken down in my beloved country. When will statues of Thomas Jefferson be removed for the slaves he owned? Luckily, this place serves as an important reminder of three leaders who destroyed the Nazi Empire and evil in its path. This historic country house is the site where Truman, Churchill and Stalin met at the famous Potsdam Conference following World War II. Here, Germany was partitioned up and peace reparations were determined. While the conference and the treaty were signed here, one must keep in mind that President Truman was new to international diplomacy and Sir Winston Churchill was voted out and his replacement, Clement Attlee, signed the final treaty. This meant the Jozef Stalin was able to broker a great deal for the Soviet Union. This is how politics and international agreements work.

Historical Grounds
Dec 2019
Prussian palace is better known for hosting 1945 Potsdam Conference where Big Three leaders (Churchill, Stalin, Truman) met to decide Germany's future. Very well-kept, decorative grounds, part of Neuer Garten.

Politics of The Great War's Ending
Dec 2019
The home is stunning. The setting is beautiful. The recorded tour guide is excellent. So why rush the guests through, locking room after room as the group followed the guides, leaving little time to return to a space and contemplate, or put the information into context for each individual? Still, and excellent place to visit and learn more about world history.

Home of Crown Prince Wilhelm in Potsdam, site of the Potsdam conference 1945
Dec 2019
This palace was the home of Crown Prince Wilhelm in Potsdam and the place where the Potsdam summit took place (1945). Big powers British Empire, Soviet Union and United States of America decided the fate of Europe and postwar order . American President Truman mentioned there the existence of a new powerful weapon which would literally annihilate Japan. A very important place.
