Friedrich the Great's amazing 18th-century palace, reminiscent of the grandeur of Versailles, is surrounded by a magnificent 600-acre park.

The palace was a little disappointing for the price and the 3 Euro kicker to take photos was absurd. The palace has only 12 rooms and only one was remarkable. That said, the grounds are amazing and the windmill beside the palace is really cool.

It is easy to get the train from the Berlin Zoological Gardens station to Potsdam through the woods. It takes about 45 minutes, and then a bus from Potsdam station to the palace. The journey is a model of German efficiency. This is a proper...More

The little summerhouse is impressive in its rococo details. The audio guide is good without being too overwhelming.

Built as a "private" retreat it is a relatively small palace but impressive ,decor over the top and too much French court art for my taste but has to be seen.

Built as a place to get away from it all (without worries), Frederick the Great built an amazing palace. First you will notice the vines cascading as you walk up the stairs to the top where the palace sits. Amazingly he grew his own grapes...More

This beautiful, ‘small’ summer palace is well worth a visit. Take time to linger on the outside and catch a view of the Roman ruins. The time slots are in five or ten minutes slots so you need to be on time. Our time slot...More

We lived in Berlin in the 80s but could never visit Potsdam. Had no idea how beautiful Schloss Sanssouci and the grounds were! You can spend all day here just walking around or taking one of the carriage rides. Little kids and teens would probably...More

The palace is well maintained and the tour is well organized. There is an audio guide that explains every room and the history about it. The display are very interesting and well represented. The only drawback is the very strict staff and most specially that...More

The palace is located in an expanse of gorgeous gardens, as Frederick the Great fancied himself as not only a ruler and military man, but also someone who enjoyed the finer things in life--art and fine wines. The gardens are expansive, filled with fountains, and...More

Easter is a big deal in Germany, they could be closed. But then a lot of people have holiday then and it would make sense for them to be open. The only way you will know for sure is to email them.
