I spent a few hours in this museum which really is a must for nature, culture and geography enthusiasts. Most of my time was spent in the Oceania section, which I really enjoyed. Do note, most of the descriptions within the museum are only in German, which might put most foreigners off. I recommend the museum changes this.

The museum is really good but definitely not for everyone. Only people interested in natural history will appreciate the collection. Unfortunately, the 3rd floor (Americas exhibition) is being renovated (till Nov 2016), but the remaining part is nonetheless really impressive. Allow up to half a day for a thoroughtful visit.

This museum is situated just next to the main railway station, so there is no problem to find it. The tickets (EUR 6.50/adult) are bought in the large entrance hall, where you can also find a cafe and restaurant. Toilets and cloakrooms (free - but you need a coin to remove the key from the locker, you get it back... More

Located adjacent to the railway station, this museum is on 3 floors sectioned into the different continents. Some excellent exhibits with about half having English translations. The third floor representing the Americas is currently closed for refurb unfortunately. If you want an English audio to take round it is a whopping 15 Euros with your entry otherwise 4.50 euros each for... More

I can spend a few days here if I want to scrutinize all their displays especially the preserved specimens. They've done an excellent jobb arranging and designing the exhibits. I love this museum!

I liked how the setup aimed to give the visitors not only information, but also an experience of the different parts of the world. I especially liked the display about Africa. It was a nice setting that I easily could have hung out in for a few hours! We didn't bring our older kids, but I'm sure they would have... More

This museum was on our list to visit and we caught a tram outside our hotel to the main train station which was adjacent to the museum. The entrance was imposing with a large area with models in front of it and people seated enjoying the sun. On entry, we were disappointed that there wasn't a guide book for sale.... More

Although it's all in german, the special Whale Exhibition for 5 euros was really cool. Great images and things to look at! Main part of the museum was really cool, and for €3 you can get an English audio guide. Good place to kill an hour or two away from the cold.

Half of the interactiv thing wasn't working and the 1/3 of the museum was closed off because of renovation until spring 2016. Not very clear. All information were in german.

Great show, much to see and learn. Many things collected and exhibited in attractive displays and professionally approached. It was difficult to find the thread of the exhibition. A little worn, some interactive things did not work. Only few explanations in English.
