Beautiful cathedral right at the Market Square. Beautiful architecture. Unfortunately it's not open to public during our time of visit.

Stunning Church
Oct 2020
St. Peter’s Cathedral is a large church located in the old town of Bremen. This attraction is a must visit as it is architecturally stunning both inside and out as well as there being no charge to visit.

A lot of decorative frescos
Jul 2020 • Couples
A large and well decorated interior. The stained glass windows are quite modern, while the fresco painting which there are a lot of are true to the period. The ceiling is nicely decorated as well.
Due to Covid-19 the towers were closed and so was the crypt, so we just got to see the main church area.

It is worth visit this cathedral!

You won’t miss this cathedral as it stands in the heart of the city. It is a very dark inside. There is a museum inside but I went there late so there wasn’t enough time to visit it. There are so many beautiful altars inside and the stained glass windows worth explore. Great place to visit!

A historic masterpiece.

High ceilings, stained glass, amazing architecture, the rest. Don't miss the museum in the back of the building and the quite room downstairs. A wonderful environment for music. Dating to the medieval period it is an amazing build, having been added to over the centuries. Great for a hot day, but make sure to really take in the awe inspiring experience.

The Worthy Challenge of 265 Steps to the Top
Aug 2019
One thing unclear when one purchases a ticket to go up the 60 meter tall tower is that, in view of maintaining the historical building's structure, there is no elevator. All well and good if one speaks German or bothers to understand the little note posted at the cashier's window. However, beware of the physical challenge and avoid embarrasement if overwight - as the stairs are really narrow, and the go is both ways, with people squeezing by the walls to pass each other.
Apart from the unpleasant surprise of my companion, when learning (on the way up already) that we had to climb 265 steps - the experience is awesome, once you make it to the top platform. The beautiful views of Bremen are somewhat obstructed by the wire net protecting - I suspect - the church's interior from pigeons. But, once again, the overall experience is very nice.

Awe Inspiring
May 2019
The cathedral in Bremen is an impressive building dating to the medieval period. It had been added to over the centuries. However, the present design is basically a Gothic revival restoration from the 1880s. The cathedral suffered extensive damage in WW2 but, was rebuilt and offers an incredible backdrop to the market square and is a testament of what humankind can accomplish.
