About
Berlin’s first international, alternative comedy stage, café and bar. More and more English speakers are flocking to Berlin every year, and some of these people also just so happen to be FUNNY. And lucky for them, so are the locals. So, let’s get to work. You came here for the culture, didn’t you? Well, you’ve come to the right place. Welcome home, funny people of Berlin. We are CCB, Berlin’s international, alternative comedy stage and bar, and we have plenty to offer those of you who both like to laugh and make people laugh (or try to, anyway). Within our 157 square-meter space, we have a soundproof theater capable of seating 70 people (more with our standing room option) and full bar, all so you can laugh as loud your heart desires. But wait! There’s more! On top of our German and English stand-up, improv, and podcast shows, we offer a full curriculum of comedy improv classes for beginners and advanced students in both English and German!

Neighborhood: Neukölln
No Berlin neighborhood is more popular with the young and jet-set crowd than the old worker's district of Neukölln. With so many Turkish settled here, the area became known as "Little Istanbul." Today the percentage of foreigners is still high and visitors still frequent the Turkish shisha bars. In the daytime, they also visit the designer shops and sit by the canal in one of the street cafés up and down Westerstrasse or at Maybachufer, having a beer and waving to the sightseeing boats as they float by. But at night, Neukölln is dominated by increasingly young, alternative, and international crowds. This is particularly evident in the northern section of the district where there are many bars, funky clubs, galleries and restaurants. There, the night never seems to end.

The staff were really helpful in assisting me to dry my pants after I laughed so hard I wet myself. Thank you CCB.

CCB is doing it right. I have seen various comedy shows here and they have all been high quality. Whether it's a touring comedian or Berlin's own, you are sure to get a great show. The new addition of food is amazing and perfect for lunch or getting a bite before a show. The bar selection is wonderful as well. They serve Vagabund brauerei beer on tap! I highly recommend a visit (or two, or three).

Went to the English-language Comedy Shorts show with a group of teenagers, and they LOVED it! (So did the adults).
Great fun, and great improv teams. Thoroughly enjoyable.

We've just been to a show called "In The Lab with Double XL". Was expecting improvisation - jokes and laughs. However, we found out it was more of a non-funny class for other people that improvise. First, there was a slide presentation that made us wonder if teaching improvisation with slides is really the best way.. (examples might work better, if this is something you can really teach...). Then, there was a Skype call with an improv comedian from US. After around 15 min of technical difficulties, they managed to establish an ok connection, but the space was getting very hot and, since the discussion didn't seem to go anywhere funny, we left. Not going back there.
