About Slow Travel Berlin
Our cultural-historical tours, led by long-term residents, take the form of informal but informed strolls that draw on history, literature, architecture and other cultural phenomena. We aim to provide unique and personalised insights into the city’s past and present that appeal to both locals and visitors alike. We usually limit numbers to six people in order to encourage maximum interaction and minimum interruption to the neighbourhoods that we operate in, and keep the price deliberately affordable to encourage a broad range of participants. Our tours and workshops have been mentioned in various German and international publications, from Easyjet Magazine and the Rough Guide to Berlin, to b.There Magazine, In Your Pocket, Flux FM, The Observer, Sydney Morning Herald, Tagesspiegel and more. We also offer tours for private groups and can arrange tailored itineraries.

The tour through Prenzlauer Berg was both nicely informative and informal. Paul's narrative was enriched by additions from the group, adding up to a vivid multidimensional walk through a piece of urban history. Thanks a ton to all involved, had a really great time!

Walking the Prenzlauer Berg: Beyond Kollwitzplatz, in the pale wintersun this weekend, was an absolute joy! Although I've been living in this area for 9 years, I learned so much new things.I really appreciate the exchange with our tourguide and would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Berlin.

Paul took us to tour P. Berg and its history. I've learned so many things, even as a DDR fan and had fun while learning. It was a pure pleasure and I hope to take more tour in the future! Thank you Paul!

I couldn’t recommend the tour more. We got to see the beautiful baths, and the inside of the incredible synagogue (thanks to another tour member’s contacts). Despite a slight katzenjammer, Paul’s informative stroll around Prenzlauer berg, gave a great insight into a very fascinating neighbourhood. Money well spent and I would certainly be interested in any tours of different areas in future. Carl

We had originally booked the tour on Berlin’s Film and Music Heritage but unfortunately Mark came down with an illness (hope you are feeling better now!) and hats off to Slow Travel Berlin and to Mark and Paul. Paul stepped in and said he could swap his tour (Prenzlauer Berg: Beyond Kollwitzplatz) from the Sunday to the Saturday to accommodate us on the tour if that suited us. We all agreed and then met at the arranged time of 2.00 pm on Saturday. There were only four of us on the tour – which was a bonus for me as I prefer a smaller group. You can engage in as much or as little as you like but the small numbers really do make for a great experience. Paul is a great guide and storyteller. It really is a wonderful local view of the area and one which you wouldn’t get on a normal generic tour. Paul recounted stories which were fascinating about the history of the area. Although the day was chilly, the time flew by and I’ll definitely book more tours when I am back in Berlin in July. Thank you very much for a wonderful tour and the reading recommendation. See you next time.
