The Ampelmannchen is one of the few things that survived the fall of the Wall in 1989. Meanwhile, the Ampelmann has become a Berlin ambassador. This was assured by the company AMPELMANN. In addition to the AMPELMANN Restaurant there is a cafe and...more

To know Ampelmann is to love Ampelmann. It's impossible to come to Berlin and not come across East Berlin's most beloved icon. Luckily they have several Ampelmann shops where you can get souvenirs. I bought some refrigerator magnets and still smile whenever I look at...More

The traffic lights in Berin have very distinctive "green" and "red" figures on them to indicate go/stop. This chain of shops has grown up around these & sells a variety of merchandise with these figures as logos - T-shorts, mugs, pencil cases et etc

A shop dedicated totally to the red and green crossing men/women signals at the traffic lights and selling souvenirs. Saw more than one of these shops. The Germans take crossing on a green man very seriously and I believe that you can be fined if...More

It's a cartoon of the figure on the traffic lights. A bit weird but whatever floats your boat. I didn't know this was a thing until we visited.

Berlin has history lessons in spades and so much you can take home as a souvenir. THe traffic light icones, Ampelman, is a fun gift for any age. The store also carries other items like books and is very well located.

Even the traffic signals in Berlin look good and what better than this place to go and buy some really cool souvenirs from this shop! Tried the hot chocolate too and it was good!

Nice little souvenir shop featuring the image of the man on the pedestrian lights. They have a wide range of things to buy, all emblazoned with the green "Walk" man or the red "Don't Walk" man. Good for touristy gifts for the whole family.

We did most of our take-home shopping at Ampelman. Good range of prices and quirky (as well as useful) thing. Really liked the quirkiness and the slice of old Berlin history. All our gift-receivers were thrilled. There are eight shops around the city, some with...More

There are a handful Ampelmann shops and cafes around Berlin including this well-located Flagship at the corner of Unter den Linden and Fredrichstrasse. Opening hours are 9.30am to 10pm (Mon-Sat) and 1pm to 6pm on Sundays. This is where you find souvenirs and general items...More

Especially on the most touristic areas of Berlim, there are many shops that sell only stuff based on this icon. Of course, other shops may also seel them. Very easy to find around Alexanderplatz, for example.

The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights
like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum
Island. The central location makes this one of the
city's most expensive places to live. It is here the
oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence
of some significant transformations, as well. The
gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets
between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given
