Berlin is a very bike friendly city. Many of the attractions are far apart so it is ideal to do a bike tour. Patrick was our guide, a guy from New Zealand. He was friendly and informative but his way of speaking was sometimes quiet and my Dutch girlfriend had some difficulty understanding certain things he said. Plus the group... More

Love this company. Have been on their bike tours in Paris, Barcelona and Berlin. Guides are always fun, well informed and knowledged on their topic. Safe bike tours, great bikes, efficient start and stop process. Fun and interesting (best) way to see and understand Berlin

We are a family of 5 children ages 8, 7 and 4. We requested two tag-a-longs and a kids bike. All were ready on our arrival. Both parents and children had a blast. The tour pace was excellent. Keeping 3 kids attention for a long time is challenging but all of our children were interested the entire tour. I would... More

We booked our tour of Sachesenhausen with Mosiac tours, online through fat bike tours, we made no mistake. Our tour guide Brian was excellent. He was very knowledgable and helpful. He organised the day very well and answered every question we had with patience. We could see the past come to life with his brilliant compassionate description of the camp.... More

This bike tour meets right in the centre of the city just behind the Berlin TV Tower (which by the way you should skip). This extensive bike tour took us around berlin to all the major attractions along with so rare ones. We stopped for dinner along the way and our tour guide was great. Make sure you bring warm... This was our first bike tour and we did two- the food and the general tour (October 2015). We had Merren for the food tour and she was AMAZING! Her passion for the history and culture really enriched our stay in Berlin. We had the general tour the following day and chose to be in her group again since we... More

Fat Tire Bike Tours deserves its spot as the #1 attraction in Berlin. We had an amazing time on the tour and would definitely recommend it to anyone else visiting the city. Our tour guide Tim was great and certainly knew his stuff about all of the attractions we visited! His knowledge of Berlin's history was great and his tour... More

I did the tour in April 2012 as me and my crew had only the 24h layover in Berlin. We got really cool tour guide (Australian bloke... forgot his name ;-) ) and he was telling the stories about Berlin in a very interesting way. Bargain! Really recommend

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
