Our tour guide was Matti who was so knowledgeable about the history of Berlin. He was able to tell us about his parents' experiences when the lived behind the wall in East Berlin. It's so nice to have a guide who has been brought up in the city you are visiting but sometimes their accent makes it hard to understand.... More

Went on a pre booked 4 hour walking tour of the Berlin Xmas Markets. One of the requirements before we met the tour was that we purchase an all day Berlin Travel Ticket. (6 Euros). We soon found out why. We were to travel from Market to Market via underground/overground railways and buses. We were treated to a fascinating insight... More

This was a fascinating walk made all the better by our guide Jamie. Lasting the best part of 4 hours with 30 minutes set aside to grab some food it took us to many of the best sights. Jamie was excellant at explaining the history and some of the unusual events that took place.

Beth was a very thorough and knowledgable tour guide who covered all types of subjects regarding German/Berlin history. She really made us feel what it would have been like to experience this concentration camp with her version of speeches being in the present which was a nice touch. We will definitely be booking another tour with Beth next time we... More

We went on the "Hitler's Germany" tour which takes you around various sites in Berlin. Our guide was Kevin and he is possibly the best person to talk about this subject, his knowledge and passion for Germany's darker past up to and including WW11 gives you an extensive insight into this subject, with dates, facts and figures and photos. We... More

Jonathon was an excellent tour guide. I've been on quite a few tours and he may be the best tour guide yet. He did a great job overviewing the history of Berlin and made the tour very interesting and interactive.

The tour is about 3 to 4 hours and let you know about what's happening in this city. The whole tour was like a conversation, not only the tour guide was speaking, but also he will ask participants' opinion. A highly recommend tour!

We went on this walking tour on our first day in Berlin and it really was the most brilliant introduction to the city. Our guide was Merren and she is FABULOUS! We couldn't have asked for a more enthusiastic, knowledgable, entertaining, friendly guide and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute as well as learning a great deal about the city.

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
