This was tough going as the temperature reached 34C! It's a real four hours so bear that in mind. If you want an early "taster" as to where to return in earnest, this is a fabulous way to get it. Ryan - a Scottish guy living in Berlin - was our guide and he was absolutely outstanding. He set the... More

Not usually my thing, but needed to introduce myself to a new city while my husband was at work. Not only did it kill time (3 and a half hours) but I really enjoyed it. Kyle, the guide, was witty, clear and her memory for facts and figures was amazing. I would definitely try this type of tour again. I... More

I highly recommend any tour that Rick is leading. He is very knowledgeable about Berlin and the history behind the sites we visited. We were lucky to get him on both tours we booked with Original Berlin Walks.

Fantastic way to get an introduction to Berlin. I went on the walk on the first day of a week stay in the city. Kyle, our guide, gave an interesting, thorough and informative tour around the main sights. The walk took nearly four hours but time flew by as she told us many facts in a witty and informed manner.... More

Beth our guide gave an interesting and informative tour. If she was a history teacher you would LEARN. 4 hours of different sights with stories from the formation of Berlin through to modern day. Very insightful and told with flair to make you remember.

Lorna was our guide for a trip to Sachsenhausen concentration camp. She brought the subject to life vividly and sensitively, and was a mine of information no matter what question was asked. She judged everything just right, from the amount of time needed to take in each of the individual exhibits, to pointing us in the direction of the 'must... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
