Our guide Pippa was a great guide and very informative regarding the current Berlin as well as the history of Berlin. The 3 course dinning experience was full of flavour and presentation was eye pleasing. The disappointment was we thought is would have been more as described of pairing wine and/or beer with the food being served. Dollar value you... More

The tour of Sachenhausen Concentration camp was really good! It was an emotional and moving experience. Ysanne was a very good tour guide and she knew what she was talking about very well. I would recommend this to all travellers!

Very cool to see all the sights relevant to Nazi Germany and the Second World War. Our guide, Wouter, really knew what he was talking about and gave a tour that was both interesting/informative, but not too much of an information overload. A really good way to learn some history and see historically relevant sights of Berlin!

Had a good tour with Ryan, he was very knowledgeable and informative about past and present Berlin. Managed to see most of the major sights in 4 hours for €12.

After visiting Berlin several times already, I was interested in exploring more outside of the city. This tour offered me an opportunity to see Potsdam and learn a bit about its history. My tour guide was named Woulter. He was very knowledgable (as well as very patient with the guests). He was very engaging and entertaining. Potsdam itself was adorable.... More

We had a sensational day touring with Kathinka in Berlin. My wife and I rate her and Original Berlin Walks tour company as AAA+. OBW arranged for us to be met at our ship and driven in a very comfortable car to Berlin. Our driver was with us all day. He was accommodating, extremely pleasant and made our travels throughout... Did two walking tours with the Original Berlin Walks --- one a walking tour of Berlin with Jess the other a Tour of the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp with Ryan. Both guides were excellent. Well informed. Shared a wealth of historical and current knowledge. Kept the pace of the tour at a reasonable level. Highly recommend them.

We took the eye opening Sachsenhausen Camp Memorial Tour. And we would totally recommend this tour to anyone! Beth was our tour guide and she was passionate, educated and lovely to be around. She was able to break down 100 years of history in a way and style we could all relate to. It was a very insightful trip. And... More

Jess my guide has a wealth of knowledge, his passion for his job shone through, he showed us many interesting things and told us the stories behind them. It made it come alive, knowing a little more than if you just saw it! I booked in advance, so glad I did as I only had a short time there, it... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
