Neighborhood: Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.

It's a very nice mall, but the stuff in the stores are a expensive, so you need a big wallet. But there is a food court and that's very nice! If you want to have lunch for 15 euros you need to go here!

Bikini needs to tone down the "bouncers". It's like they're bored and trying to look busy, walking around watching and micro-adjusting tourists, it's a creepy vibe, as if the mall were a nightclub, with a million little ways that visitors cannot be trusted to behave. This woman asking someone to turn around so she can see if he's wearing a mask. Another guy telling someone that it's forbidden to sit on the ground on the rooftop, please sit on the seats etc. They're nice enough, but you can tell that it's awkward for them, I think someone in Bikini management is not quite "reading the room" as it were.

Unique shopping mall with a trendy selection of shops and pop-up stores in a cool location. You can also sit on some cushions and watch the monkeys in the zoo while enjoying your picnic or board game.

A bit of a dated mall but it does have a decent grocery shop right at the back & a large window looking into the Baboon enclosure of the wonderful Zoo.
So one can sit & watch our relatives whilst having a coffee, for free.
Not much else otherwise.

Bikini is a nice change from the slight blandness of the rest of the shops in the surrounding areas. It's a lovely re-imagining of a building right by the zoo, with free views into some parts of the zoo from the rooftop garden. Inside, the shops are more likely to be independent and they're all interesting. Lots of good food outlets too.

The hotel was very unique in its location, style and the way it did things - some parts worked and some parts didn’t. The room was really cool - we had an urban one - the bathroom was good and there was loads of space. The restaurant overlooked the zoo which was a unique experience, and they put on a really good spread at breakfast! We didn’t explore the hotel in full but it seemed to have a lot of good hang out areas. The weird parts were that it was only accessible via an elevator which was also the entrance to the bar. You had to push past people queuing for the bar just to get into your own hotel. Then the bar itself was so busy and had a system where you asked one person for a drink and had to wait for someone else to find you with that drink - took almost 30mins to get our drinks! It’s right next to a shopping centre and a few places to eat, but it’s quite far from perhaps more of the more poplar sights you might want to see.

I landed in Berlin this month without a jacket (yes, rookie travel mistake). I chose to go to Bikini Berlin because of a blurb I read in a magazine about Berlin that it is stylish and hip. It is a contemporary and stylish- looking mall. There are interesting shops (if you like fashion). I stopped in a shop called Studio 183, looking for a coat. The person working there helped me find a warm coat that fit well, right away. What I liked about the store was that all the clothing designers were local to Berlin. I wish I had more time to shop (and more money) because there were quite a few fun dresses in the shop and mall. I was also pleasantly surprised that there was a small Nelson Mandela exhibit going on at the time of my visit.

The mall is of unconventional design, there is a decent food court but a bit pricey though and some cool stores...

Bikini Berlin (Bikini-Haus) is a modern and original concept shopping mall in central West Berlin along Budapester Street near Ku'damm, opposite the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. It has several stores and dining places (restaurants, cafes, stands), with windows overlooking the monkey run at the Berlin Zoo. There are, for example, some interesting and unique specialist boutiques, such as Chaya (Teahouse in Japanese) with original Japanese tea, teapots, kimonos, clothes and other products (directly from Japan), or Kusmi Tea boutique with delicious tea from Paris, France. The mall is really worth visiting, whenever you are in central West Berlin.
