The area

Address
Neighborhood: Neukölln
No Berlin neighborhood is more popular with the young and jet-set crowd than the old worker's district of Neukölln. With so many Turkish settled here, the area became known as "Little Istanbul." Today the percentage of foreigners is still high and visitors still frequent the Turkish shisha bars. In the daytime, they also visit the designer shops and sit by the canal in one of the street cafés up and down Westerstrasse or at Maybachufer, having a beer and waving to the sightseeing boats as they float by. But at night, Neukölln is dominated by increasingly young, alternative, and international crowds. This is particularly evident in the northern section of the district where there are many bars, funky clubs, galleries and restaurants. There, the night never seems to end.

Regular shopping mall, with a very nice rooftop bar. You can eat, drink, or both or just chill. 360-degree view over the city. Check it out.

The Neukölln Arcarden I know since Im a child. I live in this area for over 16 years and I have seen how this shopping mall was build. It has a nice cosy libary on the 4th floor. I do know my childhood days there borrowing lot of books. Its has a good silent room for ppl who want to study. Also the arcaden was named first "Forum". The name changed because all the malls in berlin were called "arcaden". Its has a huge supermarket "kaufland" on the ground floor. You can find anything there. I do go often for the postoffice and atm's from berliner sparkasse there. There are also lot of clothing shops like pimpki, vero moda etc. Hugendubel is a bookstore which had in the past two floors. But now its just a tiny book store. Before you had lot of books and seating places downstairs. For some reason they changed it years a go to a small bookstore with just the needed stuff.

The Neukölln Arcades are a normal shopping center with a few well-known chains. I particularly liked two things: At Denns you can also drink coffee on site and Kaufland is open until 10 p.m.

Been here several times and the number of interesting shops just drops each time. A few clothe shops, McDonalds of course and a big Mediamarkt takes the space.
