Went on a walking tour with Insider Tours on Sunday 14th August. It was actually my son's 18th birthday & he was happy to go on the tour with me & soak up some of the historical knowledge imparted by our guide Michael Dempsey. It probably helped that he had irish connections, but Michael was an absolutely brilliant guide &... More

Went on Barnaby's tour of Berlin recently and have a fantastically educational and entertaining experience. Barnaby's wonderful sense of humour and love of Berlin gave an insight into the city which you could not get from simply reading a guide book. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic tour. JJ our guide was really great; his love and knowledge of the history of Berlin was evident and made the four hours fly by. Highly recommended - the perfect introduction to Berlin.

Met tour guide, Phil, at the Zoological Garten Train station in west Berlin. Showed us how to ride the Tram (which served us well during our time in Berlin) and took us to east Berlin. This young Irishman was very knowledgable and quit funny. His voice was load enough to ensure the whole group could hear. Being 71years old, it... More

Pedro and I went on a guided tour with Lior - couldn't find his name listed among the guides here on Trip Advisor - and we were awful by his knowledge, his professional demeanor and his perfect English. Our trip was exceptional, we learned a lot and we enjoyed it greatly. Bravo to LIOR!!

Walking around Berlin for 4 hours was such a great way to discover the history of This city and country. The guide Barnaby was able to combine knowledgeable, passion and humour in a way that enabled learning and invited reflection on a very challenging time in history. If you have the time I would highly recommend this tour

Maria led our English-language walking tour of Potsdam. She was friendly, engaging and so knowledgeable about the history and the culture of Potsdam. We learned quite a bit on our walk through the historical sites. Maria made sure everyone's questions were answered and did an excellent job handling a particularly difficult member of our group. This tour is definitely a... More

I did the famous walk with the guide Nicholai. It lasted around 4 and a half hours. One thing to note is that you can join the group from the west or the east, the initial meet is the west and then you all catch a train over to the east meet up point and the tour then begins. Nicholai... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
