We were a group of 5 people on a cool windy December day in Berlin. Jean Pierre brought the city alive (even the places that were no longer there) with his knowledge and enthusiasm about his beloved city. His explanation of how current architecture effectively reinterpreted structures of the period was fascinating and well documented with his pictures. We were impressed with the detailed level of knowledge he was able to provide in response to our numerous questions. He brought to life the personalities and character of the key individuals that were influencing Berlin during and after the Second World War.
We highly recommend him as a very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and personable guide to choose to interpret the history of Berlin.

I organized a classic tour of Berlin starting in Alexanderplatz and ending at the Berlin Cathedral for a group of about 15 people, and it was beyond expectations! My parents had been to Berlin before and seen many of the typical, easy to check off places in the city, so it was an absolute treat to have a tour with someone who is so knowledgeable and passionate about the city. He planned a route with many benches and places to stop as that was a specific accommodation request I had made for my mother who has a difficult time with long periods of standing. The tour was about 2.5 hours, and we could have easily spent more time with Jean-Pierre. He is well-versed in the most interesting facts and anecdotes surrounding each piece of history, culture, and sentiment. I would highly recommend booking Jean-Pierre for a tour in Berlin.

Jean-Pierre’s tour of Berlin was one of the highlights of our trip to Berlin. His telling of the history as you walk through the historical and architectural locations in the city pulls it together in a very engaging way. His knowledge of Berlin is impressive and he shares it in a most accessible manner.
He was attuned to our interests - it truly is a personalized experience.

In 2019 we learned from Jean-Pierre Andreae of Premium Guide Berlin Private Tours that Berlin's architecture is much more than the restored buildings of Unter den Linden. And that is why we contacted him again this year to learn how Berlin has incorporated new ideas about city planning and living for its residents. A highlight this year was learning about and exploring the Hansa Viertel, an ambitious housing project designed in the 1950s with apartment buildings designed by Le Corbusier, Aalto, Gropius, and others to create a self-contained community for Berlin's middle class. Absolutely stunning. In other parts of Berlin we saw Bauhaus and Brutalist buildings, the Brutalist buildings being particularly fascinating examples of the genre. We also learned about Speer's and Hitler's plans to transform Berlin into a grandiose Germania. The plan never came to fruition. In its place we saw some very moving memorials to victims of the Holocaust. And finally we explored with Jean-Pierre the grounds of San Souci and its several palaces and the town of Potsdam. A vey special and beautiful excursion.
Throughout our touring we learned not only about the architecture we observed but also the historical context that gave rise to the various buildings. Simply a first rate experience that no guidebook or alternative guide could begin to provide.

Jean-Pierre has a vast knowledge of and passion for Berlin and its history, and it was clearly apparent on this tour. We started at Alexanderplatz and the 2.5 hours just flew by as we were immersed in Berlin's history. The tour proceeded at a leisurely pace, suitable for all ages. Jean-Pierre tailored the tour to the participants' interests and patiently answered our many questions. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Berlin!

One of, if not the, best tour guide I ever witnessed. His passion for history, his knowledge and taste are coupled with a very friendly and welcoming personality. Every tour is unique and he is always open for some after fun drinks. It is like going on a tour with a local friend with all the knowledge.

To say that the Berlin experience Jean Pierre offers is premium is not fully descriptive of what it truly is. The closest that I can come up with is “definitely high-end premium”.
Jean Pierre cuts to the chase and offers a highly personalized experience of Berlin. Time with him started in the garden of his cozy Berlin abode where he listened and got to know us over champagne and then lead us to an off the beaten path neighborhood restaurant for an authentic local Berliner dining experience. This set the tone for the next 2 days with him. Our tour with Jean Pierre started the following morning with him meeting us at our hotel for a general introduction to the custom experience he has tailored. My partner and I completely trusted Jean-Pierre on the itinerary he has planned and he nailed it perfectly. His tour provided so much more than information. He served the Berlin experience based on our interests.
Our time with Jean Pierre fully exceeded our expectations. Passionate on sharing his wealth of knowledge on German history, his love for Berlin is highly contagious. We are grateful and highly appreciative of his role in making our time in Berlin enriching and very memorable.

This was the best tour we had in Berlin. Jean Pierre was an excellent guide. He was enthusiastic and provided an amazing perspective of the history and architecture of the city. He is very knowledgeable and very personable. He made our trip to Berlin memorable.

6 friends have just visited Berlin for the first time . We booked Premium Guide at the last minute and what a superb choice we made. Jean-Pierre met us at our hotel at 11am as arranged and then we spent the next 5 hours walking and taking buses around Berlin.Jean -Pierre is a fantastic guide - we did everything at our own pace and learned a lot in a very enjoyable way . He is highly intelligent ,well informed and has a lovely personality. After a couple of hours we stopped at the German History Museum cafe for refreshments and then finished the tour at 4pm with afternoon tea at the Riechstag . The Reichstag/ Dome tour was fully booked but Jean - Pierre managed to book us in which is something we could not have done ourselves . We had afternoon tea and then watched the sunset over Berlin from the roof of the Riechstag building . A perfect end to a perfect day . I would highly Recommend Premium Guide. Jean - Pierre certainly gave us a real understanding of Berlin in a very short time.

This was one of the great Highlights of the trip to spend hours with JP and his knowledge and expertise was to be commended. I had a special group from USA
L'OREAL World Tour and with such a creative group, we all shared the same thing
of being educated and being Inspired.! You captured it all.,, We enjoyed the time and the great dinner that we personally had time to share with you.. Truly an experience .
