What an amazing museum-you would need several days to get around the whole building but we spent several glorious hours learning something of the history of Germany and admiring so many amazing exhibits. There were far more paintings (which I love) to see which pleased...More

I'm not going to lie-- we would not have gone to this museum were the temperatures not over 100 in Berlin. Many other museums had no AC. Still we walked in and loved it! We visited two separate Weimar Republic exhibits-- the one about popular...More

Nothing happens in a vacuum. This museum does an excellent job of setting the scene for what comes next.

This is one of the oldest building in Berlin, unfortunately they are rebuilding the facade and could not take a picture of it. This is a must see history museum of Germany, displays are from middle ages up to the fall of Berlin wall.

We spent two hours here this afternoon learning about 1918-1949. Could have spent much more if time had permitted. Next time we'll start with 500-1500. Very good English info and great historical artefacts. Highly recommended if you want to learn more about German history.

Germany has a complicated history but this museum has several things that do a good job of explaining including popular painting of Martin Luther to Hitler's idea for the massive new Reichstag. The exterior is currently under renovation but you can enter from the auxiliary...More

There is generally a good explanation in German & English. I didn't feel the need for an audio guide. It depends how much in-house depth you want to go.
