Harald is very knowledgeable, personable and entertaining. I don't think we had any questions that he could not answer. We covered a great deal of ground (it was a Sunday so there wasn't much traffic). When I go back, I certainly would use him again.

So, my partner and I travelled to Berlin with his elderly parents. It was a struggle for his mum to walk far so although expensive for us we decided to take a private tour with car facilities. Having found Harold on trip advisor and seeing his reviews we booked with him. Harold arrived promptly and was warm and welcoming with... More

In the past we had always toured a city by following a guidebook - tiring and you miss 90% - or even worse by tour bus with everyone doing selfies. This time we made a very wise decision and booked 4 hours with Harald. We used a taxi driven by George (big advantage we could stop and park anywhere). From... More

Our family of four were pleased that we booked a private tour with Harald. We needed to cover a lot in four hours. Harald and his excellent driver did just that. We took the “East German” tour because it was of more interest to us and because we had seen or would be seeing a lot on the other tour.... More

We booked a 6 hour tour of the City by car, and quite honestly it was the best decision we could make. Harald arrived promptly and kept to a timely schedule, interspersing stops at the main attractions with specific places that we had told him that we wanted to see in advance. The whole trip was made even more interesting... More

We just completed an 8 hour tour of Berlin with Harald. It was absolutely fantastic. He is extremely knowledgeable. He focused in on our areas of interest and set a wonderful itinerary. We had a great overview of the city (the key standard sights) and explored things we would never have gotten to from a guide book or group tour.... More

Harald was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. He tailored our tour to include our areas of interest which included the main attractions plus much much more. Without Harald we would have missed so many places that we never knew about even with extensive research. The little details provided were informative and made the tour so much more valuable. The tour is... More

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending four to five hours on three different days with Harald Zawuski. On the three separate tours (city of Berlin, Potsdam and the Jewish tour) he was thoroughly knowledgable and we enjoyed every minute of our time with him.

Berlin was the first stop of our vacation and we couldn't have had a nicer start. Harald was an amazing tour guide. He was interesting to listen to, answered all our questions and overall was just a very pleasant person to spend the day with. He also helped us plan the rest of our time in Berlin pointing out interesting... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
