We took the 4 hour tour yesterday. I booked with Harold about 4 months ago on line from Canada. From the start with a contract to arranging for a drive rand van, the tour was nothing less than very professional. The real value was the information Harold was able to add as we visited not only the main sites but... More

Harold had clearly listened to our requirements and provided a customised tour of Berlin. Not only did he have a really good knowledge of the city and its history he came equipped with photos of the city from before and after WW2 to provide background to the places we visited.

Our tour with Harald was a high point of our trip to Europe this month. We have traveled all over the world but this was our first trip to Germany. We hired Harald with his car and driver for two 5-hour days of sightseeing. It was... well... everything: illuminating, edifying, sad and hopeful. We chose to focus on the Holocaust... More

Harald met us in the afternoon with an excellent driver, Svetlana. We spent 4 hours driving to all the major points of interest and Harald illuminated the history of Berlin and Germany and made it clear that as a country, Germans have accepted and dealt with a shameful past. I felt that his English was excellent and energy contagious. He... More

We've taken many tours throughout Europe and Harald is one of the best. He's extremely knowledgeable and did an excellent job of pacing our tour. We left feeling like we had a much deeper understanding of Berlin and the various sites. Harald is very talented in that his explanations felt like a conversation and not a lecture. His communication in... More

My wife and I could not possibly cover the depth, sights, and local color of Berlin without Harald. Bright, humorous, and fun. We learned a great deal of the history and the most interesting and timely sights in many of the neighborhoods. You could not possibly do this alone!

We booked these tours with Harald as a recommendation of friends you had booked with him prior. He is excellent and very knowledgeable about the Jewish sections and areas of Berlin. He was very accommodating as when we first arrived in Berlin we had an issue with our first hotel that required us to change hotels to the other side... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
