We did the Berlin Wall tour with Markus. It was a fantastic way to see the city, and we got to understand not just the history of the city, occupation, but also the way of life, both then and now. The ride was fast paced but comfortable, bikes were great, very well-maintained and high quality, and the group was small... More

We did the Berlin Wall bike with George and we had a fantastic time. George made it extra fun when we let us spray paint the wall itself, which we never would have thought to do if we did not go on the tour. Overall Geogre was really personable, funny and engaging. I'd definitely recommend him and the tour to... More

We did this tour with 2 adults and 2 teenagers! Our guide, Kevin, was amazing! He gave details of Germany's history that isn't always found in a text book. Just like most bike yours, don't expect to enter the sites. Your guide should provide you with ample information. He answered everyone's questions and was very professional during the tour. He... We went with the whole family - 3 children ages 13,15,18 my wife and myself and enjoyed the bike tour immensely. There are many bike tours and i'm sure they vary in quality. I took the fat bike from by alexanderplatz under the tower. They were friendly and insightful. great tour guides fun perspective. You get a feel of the... More

My sister and I spent a very happy morning on a 'bespoke' bike tour of Berlin! Markus was our guide and he was so knowledgable and relaxed. Luckily for us, there was only one other person booked on so we had a very individual tour. We cycled through numerous big parks which was so lovely, away from any touristy spots.... More

I couldn't recommend this bike tour enough!! In a small group of 7 we visited loads of beautiful and magical places around Berlin, Markus was superb: easy to talk to, very knowledgeable, passionate and responsive! Markus has 'personalised' the tour for us making it very attractive and special!! Loved it!!!!!

I was impressed by their courteous approach and the good bikes available. I wouldn't go anywhere else with this quality and low prices.

Excellent tour of Berlin. Markus was our guide and was very knowledgable and enthusiastic. The tour groups are no more than 8 people, much smaller than the other bike tours you see around. We were fortunate enough to be in a group of 2 plus Markus, so effectively a private tour! Because of this, the guide was able to be... More

i took the Berlin Wall Tour with Markus about a week ago and it was THE MOST FUN! He was very knowledgeable about the city and history of Berlin. For the most part, this tour was off the beaten path and away from touristy places, which I greatly appreciated. Markus has a great sense of humor and I highly recommend... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
