We were arriving at Warnemunde off the M/S Marina and I wanted to arrange a private shore excursion. Berlin City Tours provided prompt confirmation of arrangements and kept me updated. We were met at the ship by Bernd. who provided us with a most interesting & informative tour, lasting from 9.00am to 6.30pm. We travelled by rail, with walking tours... More

Beware of hop on hop off yellow bus tours. There are two yellow bus companies. One has many buses and seems very professional. The other one has 2 or 3 buses at the most and is horrible with service and attitude. Do not use Stadtrundfahrtbuüro BErlin Sightseeing Berlin. We were left standing at a remote stop for almost an hour... More

We were on a cruise ship and wanted a city tour of Berlin. This was a great option at a much more reasonable cost. We were met at the port and transported on a very comfortable motorcoach to the city where we met up with a wonderful guide, Boris. He was exceptionally, knowledgeable very friendly. I would highly recommend, you... More

We travelled on the red and green route over two days and managed to see most sights. Special praise for bus tour guide Eleanor who was extremely interesting and included so much background information. She also recommended that we take the Berlin Wall walking tour with Andreas and we were very pleased that we did. He was interesting and amusing.... More

We were collected at Warnemunde from our cruise ship by our cheerful driver Sven and enjoyed a comfortable 3 hour drive to Berlin where we met our tour guide, Theo. The coach was modern and had every amenity. Our day tour was a terrific overview of this modern city and Theo was very knowledgeable and interesting. To our amazement 20... More

Overall this was a decent way to get a live guided tour of the Sanssouci palace in English. However, we felt a lot of time was wasted driving all around Potsdam to look at buildings that were barely visible through fences and past trees, ostensibly to provide historical background. At the end of the Sanssouci portion of the tour, we... More

I have had 'Hop-on-Off' bus tours in various citys , but this one was dreadful. 1.The bus stops are not marked so it was dificult initially finding where to catch a bus from and finding other stops if you had not actually exited at the location. 2. The busses ran at 30 minutes intervals not 15 minutes as advertised. 3.... More

Having toured London Paris Malta, loads of times with hop on/off buses we booked this actually 2 tours for good price routes 'A' and 'C' red and purple.BUT this is not a casual tour, the bus has strictly designated on/off stops, every 20 minutes, you can;t ring bell and 'hop off' nor can you hail a bus and hop back... Very frustrating. Recorded commentry way too early for sights. Often we had passed the sight while they were discussing the 2nd or 3rd sight afterwards. Major gripe: they do NOT have marked bus stops and the maps.are not accurate enough to show you where to wait. Also, the maps do not show were the different sights are situated, so you... More

Have done many of these in different cities and they were great BUT this tour needs quite a few improvements. The commentary is awful. Most destinations had already passed before the commentary started and then it gave very little history or detail - there was a lot of music played. To add to confusion, the bus stops are not marked.... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
