Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.

Whilst it was busy, it was not overly crowded. The drinks were reasonably priced and the music and atmosphere were great. The band that was playing was called Funk Delicious. Would definitely return the next time I'm in Berlin.

The thing about Quasimodo that is sometimes not clear to visitors or others, is there are basically two venues at the same location. You have the upstairs, which is a bar and restaurant combined where there is music, usually more mainstream. Then you have the Quasimodo club that is located downstairs, which you can reach by stairs on the lefthand side of the building. Downstairs is usually jazz, both more well-known performers like Lisa Stanfield for example, or more scene favors that may have been around for some time. I've been to both multiple times.
Upstairs has many tables inside, and you'll find locals who visit regularly in the afternoon or evenings for a tea or coffee and a sandwich while reading their paper. Out front and up-top, there is great outdoor seating in one of the popular and well-known areas of the city, so it's a good place to people watch also. Prices aren't very expensive for the area, for beer, wine and so forth.
Downstairs at the club, it can get loud of course, as performers crank out the tunes, and there is moderate amount and seating and lots of standing room. Despite having some really good bands and vocalists at times, there isn't often a true jazz club feel to the venue because it is a well-known spot, which unfortunately draws that number and type of German that has too much to drink and cannot seem to understand you don't talk, laugh and hoot loudly during performances because you're with your friends. So with the higher price of entry than average plus well-known spot, you get the more well-to-do types who think it's their right to behave boorishly.
If you are a true jazz enthusiast, go someplace else with far better atmosphere and spirit unless you just want to see a specific group that might be playing. This one has generally become too popular with a certain type of crowd. Lots of great posters of former performers and true greats of jazz and rock, but Quasimodo's heyday has passed, maybe they'll get it back again somehow.

My wife and I went on our last night in Berlin. It was 17euro to get in on the Friday night. Way to expensive! Saying this the actual bar is quite nice really. Very full with some characters there. The bill said the band played 'funk, horns and sweat' so thinking of funk I usually listen to we were amazed that
Robbie Williams 'let me entertain you' was the opening song. Followed by Kylie Manogue and Robbie Williams, doing it for the kids and a Cristina Aguilera song. In the end we had some good laughs and even got propositioned! Ha, we ran quickly. If you are going for the music then know its most likely mainstream but really not bad for a party.

We certainly picked the right night to go here. Big Jay McNeely played rythm & blues from the 40-50s and he was just amazing. Good crowd and polite and helpful bartenders. Unforgettable. We were very lucky to randomly end up at Quasimodo that night, so a tip is to check out who`s playing on their website on beforehand. Don`t confuse the restaurant upstairs with the club downstairs. The entrance is down the stairs on the left side of the restaurant.

Wentcl for a late night show featuring local band "kai strass". An evening to remember! Very good music, intimic dance floor, small stage and great selection of alcoholic bavarages. Loved every second of it!

Well, it may not be Grace Jones but, on the right night, Quasimodo rocks despite being better known as a jazz spot. I went to see The Pretty Things (yes, I know, but 50 years ago they were wrecking the odd stadium in Germany) having missed Dr. Feelgood the previous week, and had a great evening. It's a small venue so you can be up close and personal with the acts if you want to, and the sound is kept at a good level (a couple of folks in the audience had ear plugs). There's little seating around the edges of the room so you have to get to the club at opening time (two hours ahead in my case) if you want a perch. If not, people were still coming in when the gig kicked off and there was space on the floor. The bar is efficient and has a good enough selection but takes a 50 euro cent deposit on glasses (you get a plastic token with your drink to return with your glass). The rioja, unsurprisingly, is better than the merlot btw but most of the crowd were on beer. There was a great, head banging atmosphere with an interesting and friendly crowd and we had a full hour and a half set. I believe there is no mailing list so you have to check the club's web site to see what's on the bill which looked eclectic from the list outside the venue.

It was really good place, I absolutely enjoyed! Great music, not expansive drinks and very friendly atmosphere! I don't think that a table is necessary reserved. There were many free places when I've visited this club. Live music was fabulous! If you like jazz, funk and soul I'm sure, this place is for you. Besides the location is great, 10-15 minutes from Kudam street.

Old worn-out furniture. Dirty tables and glasses - messy surroundings. Inhospital staff with an unfriendly attitude.

The seats were simple, hard, wooden garden-style chairs and were very uncomfortable. The décor was nice, with a lovely outdoor seating area but it was far too cold to sit outside when we visited. The bar was fairly quiet and the drinks were reasonably priced but the music was so quiet we couldn't even make out what it was. Maybe we just caught it on a bad night, but it was reasonably late on a Saturday night so I struggle to imagine when it could have been better.

What is the youngest age limit for a show starting at 10:30 pm?
Written April 21, 2019
Hi.
I Haven't seen any kids there.
To be honest, it's not a place for kids, there is hardly any sitting available, and most people stand close to the small stage. Nevertheless, the atmosphere is great and the vibes are energetic, but I don't think it's suitable for kids.
Regarding teenagers they will definitely enjoy, but since the place sells alcohol you should probably check with them directly as I am not familiar with the local regulations regarding age limits for bars.
