The soviet soldiers memorial is a very strong experience! Really made me understand the dimensions of the past. Very nice park to have a picnic and just ti breath fresh air.

The place is very big, small lacks. Many places to play around or just to walk or a ride. You can do a walk on the park for two hours to see all the highlights there.

A fantastic park to wander around and relax from the hussle and bussle of the city. A great place to have a picnic or spot of lunch. One of the best capital city parks I have visited, better than London I'm afraid to say, but not quite as good as Central Park.

We hired bikes twice during our week here, and cycling thru the Tiergarten was a joy! So peaceful and calm, yet you are in the midstof a vibrant city. There are a number of statues and monuments to be enjoyed as you wander thru the many paths.

Walked through from the Reichtag to the Zoo. Wonderful paths through woodland. Open spaces for picnics.

We cycled through this on the Big Fat Tire bike tour and stopped somewhere within the garden for lunch in a beer garden. It is such a beautiful place within the city and it is definitely worth hiring a bike and having a cycle through the garden to enjoy the scenery!

Large park on the western side of the city sitting next to the Reichstag and Brandenburg Tor, it stretches all the way to the Victory Column with vast swaths of open green areas to laze on nestled between dense woodland. There's plenty of trails through the park winding over the canals and even a small hidden garden with statues of... More

Very basic compared to other Zoos, the one in Münich is larger and I thought I would find more variation of species in the capital zoo It is nice for walking and getting away from city's noise though

This park is massive. You could easily spend a day just walking around and enjoying the peace. Great place for a run or a bike ride or to just chill out and have a picnic. No barbecues are allowed.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
