We really enjoyed a break from the city and had a lovely walk through the "wood" as it felt you had really left the city. Playground seems old but always a nice break for kids.

Tiergarten, is a healthy green park, right in the middle of the city. A quiet place in the middle of a very large and bustling major city. When the weather is good, it's a great place for a walk, a bike ride, a picnic or just, find a nice place and chill. Animal lovers will like the squirrels and rabbits... More

Massive park that one can literally get lost in as that is what my friend and I did. It was clean and had a lot of hidden smaller gardens and parks. However I would point out there are a lot of naked men scattered all over the park with everything hanging out. Not sure I would take young children through... More

This green space is well used by locals and tourists. We cut through in our walks round the city whenever we could. Great for a picnic or there are cafe and bars here and there. At one point you walk beside the zoo - great peeping and no entry cost! Water, trees and path layout work well together. We were... More

We cycled round it on our bike city tour, and walked round it the following day to feel the tranquillity of the park, It has a lot of history, witch we learned from our guide

The massive park in the middle of Berlin is its equivalent of Central park although it is much much older. The green heart of the city is perfect place to unwind as you quickly move beyond the noise of the cars and into the quiet of the wildlife. A pleasant place to walk and relax and see some wildlife, particularly... More

This large park between the eastern and western part of the city. You can walk through the park and on a sunny day enjoy the sun from the grass.

Beautiful park in the middle of Berlin - great walking, running, and cycling trails, with lots of history and monuments hidden throughout the park. It's a nice shift of pace and environment from the built city center.

Berlin is definitely one of the best cities as for parks and the central park of Berlin definitely has something different from all the others. Full of hidden spots I would definitely recommend get lost in it for hours in summer, spring, fall or even winter!

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
