We enjoyed the gorgeous weather and took full advantage of it to walk around the park, sculptures, go to the riverside bar and take a trip on the boats! Very reasonable drinks prices and the boat trips are very romantic, providing you can row!

I spent a few hours geocaching in the Tiergarten on a chilly afternoon. It was peaceful and it felt very safe. Lots of couples and families were out for walks. It seemed like there was something interesting to see around each corner. Beautiful!

What a surprise it was to come across the Tiergarten - we were only thinking of seeing the Berlin Zoo but just happened to walk through a section of this marvelous garden & became immersed in the absolute treasure it is. Well worth a visit but you could spend the entire day here without seeing everything. All in all, a... More

Weather the previous week had frozen the lake, the park itself is huge. Great to get out of the city for a couple of hours. Only 10 mins from the Alexanderplatz stop on the S bahn.

Great walk through the very large gardens on the way to the Brandenburg gate. Glad we took the stroll and walked and enjoyed the foliage and animals.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
