Lovely huge park right in the centre of the city. Actually didn't realise just how big it was and wore my husband out with all the walking. Nice restaurant in the English Garden to stop and have a snack or a drink. and if you have a day ticket for the bus and trains a quick escape via one of... More

Very attractive park which is used as a biking highway for commuters, a cuddle spot for couples, a drinking spot for teenagers, and even an exercise area for house roosters! Some nice memorials to look at.

I ran and biked through the Tiergarten on several occasions. It's a great park for both activities, with wide well-maintained paths. It's amazing how quickly you can be swallowed up by the forest be totally apart from urban Berlin. If you visit on a sunny warm day with children, beware that you may bump into nude sunbathers in the clearings... More

Not quite the same as Central Park which is much livelier, but a stroll through this immense green lung in the middle of Berlin does give one a sense of detachment from the city surrounding it. In the summer there are plenty of scantily clad sunbathers who can often be seen doing, shall we say, adult things - so if... More

Great park. So much to see and do around here. Almost too big... If you have the time it is a great place for a picnic. If you are short on time then just a cursory stroll.

Cycling through the Tiergarten, stopping for a picnic, having a drink in the beer garden - and life could not be better. On warm summer days say hello to the nudists!

That's what they call it. The Tiergarten is a massive green space in the middle of the city and it provides a well needed break from the history and bustle of Berlin. It's a fine walking, biking, boating and drinking location. There are 2 bier gartens located inside the greenery!

This is the most lovely way to escape the noise of the city. We walked out behind the zoo and toward the Siegessäule Große Stern. Walk along the canals and lochs and enjoy the scenery

Lovely park which has many points of interest. Ideal for getting away from the hustle and bustle of central Berlin for a couple of hours.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
