This is a very pleasant place to walk around. There is lovely architecture in here as well. Old buildings well restored. But ultimately the balance falls a bit flat. A giant Starbucks, - like this has anything to do with Berlin cafe culture?. Maybe too...More

Interesting area showing Jewish life in Berlin before World War 2 , now converted into unique galleries and shops, including the Ampleman shop where you can buy memories of the old Eastern German traffic light characters .Sup for a coffee as you wander round the courtyards

Take time to go here, it's easy to think it is just another shopping mall but look at the architecture too. Superb quality shops and good eating places too.

As a place to visit in Berlin I expected more from the reviews I'd read. The interconnected courtyards are moderately interesting but I thought the boutiques were ...well...all that is wrong with anything that calls itself a boutique - expensive & overpriced, catering to a...More

You could spend an hour or 2 just admiring the buildings in this lovely complex. But you need to take in at least 1 cafe, and take time to view the arts and crafts on display - in many studios, you meet the artists. (The...More

These houses offer an insight into a unique Berlin architecture style - progressive interior courts in tenements. The street facing building had the most expensive and elaborate appartments with servant entrances, etc. separated by a court in the back was the next tenement with less...More

The market area, plus the courtyard, are fun to visit -- lots of restaurants and cafes, and neat shops. Might be a bit boring after a while for young children, but certainly lively and fun for a couple of hours -- easy to get lunch,...More

Didn´t know what to expect as I walked in to the first courtyard. But this is a little world of its own. Cafés, shops, music, people... Loads of small worlds after enother.

Off course I'm aware that Hackeschen Höfe will not be a surprise to most of the tourist. But to me it was. Two years ago I walked past without knowing of its existence. Last week I came back to Berlin and this time, still not...More

The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights
like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum
Island. The central location makes this one of the
city's most expensive places to live. It is here the
oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence
of some significant transformations, as well. The
gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets
between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given
