I have been visiting Berlin since 1988 when the city was still divided and the Berliner Fernsehturm was a symbol of Communist Power and of the East German capital. After the fall of the wall the tower was earmarked for demolition, thankfully it stayed in one piece. It was constructed between 1965 and 1969 and stands at a height of 368 metres and is the tallest structure in Germany and the third tallest structure in the European Union.

I have been to observation deck in the past and decided to return on my latest visit to the city. Accessing the observation deck was easy enough even in Covid-19 times, I had to prove I was fully vaccinated and asked to follow strict safety regulations and then it was straight to the ticket desk and shortly afterwards I was directed to elevator.

The views from the observation deck are phenomenal with 360 degree views of the city and beyond. It was possible to see the differences between the former West and East areas of city mostly because of the architectural styles, communist era tenement blocks dominate the former DDR districts. It was fairly busy when I visited as the sun was setting but a lot quieter than in pre-covid days. The Fernsehturm is an absolute must see when in Berlin, it is a short walk from Alexanderplatz and the ticket price is fairly reasonable. The views of the city are incredible and give a different perspective of the metropolis than from ground level.

I got in with the all inclusive Berlin Welcome Card which I strongly recommend to see the sights in Berlin which provide free access or at least a discount to get in.

You get some stunning views from 206m up and my ears actually popped riding up and down the lift. There is a bar and restaurant as well and patrons can get in for free. Be sure to retain your ticket and you need it to both enter and leave. It’s suggested to leave bulky items at coat check.

Worth the views if you’re in the area of Museum island. The Hop On Hop off buses stop in the area as well.

Stunning views in all directions even on a dull day from this iconic tower. Wasn't expecting to go up, but was passing and decided to join the queue which wasn't too long. If you know you want to go, book tickets online in advance as you get straight in. A lot of people got impatient in the queue and left, but overall it wasn't a particularly long wait in a holiday period. Once in, you get your ticket (tickets are 21.50 Euro for adults), then proceed to a security check then queue for the lift. It can be a bit crowded at some spots for viewing, but just wait a few seconds and people tend to move on fairly quickly so you can get a good view. Bar was open the day I went. Overall a great experience and would recommend a visit!

Visit 04.06 at 9pm. Amazing attraction of the city: beautiful views and very nice interior. Have been multiple times and it is worth the fee. This time our Visit was spoiled by having to wait 20minutes to get served an overpriced drink while the bar staff were drinking shots with another customer. When finally getting served, the bar man was drunk and could not even calculate the total of 5 drinks and attempted to overcharge me on the already overpriced drinks. I had to take the calculator on my phone and do it for him. We received watered down drinks and when trying to get their attention, my friend was rudely ignored. Absolute pity as the establishment has so much potential and as coming from Berlin myself I am quite shocked that this is the impression we are leaving as a nation to our tourists.

My university organised a trip to Berlin for 6 days. After a couple of days of exploring this amazing tower would dramatically stand out from every other building. After a quick Google search I found it was the Berlin TV tower. I went onto the website and discovered that students get 20% of the adult ticket, so I knew I'd be visiting this. The experience was quite similar to the Amsterdam lookout tower. A cinematic lift takes you up to the top, with incredible views. The weather was sunny so everything was clear for miles. For roughly 11 euros this was a great attraction and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Berlin.

The tallest structure in Germany and third tallest in Europe offers fantastic views of Berlin. The fernsehturm also has a revolving restaurant (make a reservation) that features full meals along with yummy deserts. It can be a bit crowded and you may have to wait a long time to enter so it is best to buy tickets ahead of time and spring for the express line.

Been to Berlin a number of times previously but hadn't done the Tower, have done the Potsdamer Platz building roof top view and overview of Berlin's history which was very good and also the Funktrum (mini Eiffel Tower) which is also very good and has nice restaurant (sadly not reopened at this time post covid).
The Fernsehturn is better than both for great city 360 views. Cost isn't cheap but glad to have finally taken the ride up and on a very sunny clear day so made the experience even better.
Unfotunately as not pre-booked had around 40 to 60mins wait in line to get in.
Recommended.

We booked an afternoon window table at the restaurant. The price is quite high and the restaurant prices are a bit high, as you might expect. But the taste was mediocre. My main remark is that there are no explanations of the sights in the restaurant - only on the visitors floor. So maybe we should be able to come earlier to the visitors floor and afterwards to the restaurant - an option that was not available to us, because of the pre-scheduled time slots. A note for the organizers.

Thank you very much for visiting our restaurant and taking the time to write a review. We really appreciate your feedback and honesty. Sadly, it is not possible at the moment to switch between the deck and the restaurant, it used to be different but sadly the Covid related hygiene measures have changed that for now. We hope to be able to change it back soon. Warm regards, Your Berlin TV Tower Team.

Even though you have to pay 20 Euros it is still absolutely worth it to visit the observation deck of the Fernsehturm. You can see everything! Every park, the river, attractions... we even managed to spot our apartment. I’ve rarely been able to have such a perfect view on a city... the 360° view really is astonishing. The price is really worth it! A must-do in Berlin’

The ticket is worth it for the view alone....a complete 360 of Berlin with photographs and highlights picked out. It was good to go up at night to get the city lit up and it was less busy than other reveiws suggest although (obviously) it was trickier to make out some landmarks.
The lift man was very entertaining and the cocktails, although a little pricey, were good fun. We felt like we were living the highlife for an evening.
