I visited the main building located on the Unter den Linden opposite the Bebelplatz. A most impressive looking structure and worth a stop as you explore the area.

The square in front of the law faculty was the location of the Nazi book burning. There is a small opening in the middle of the square showing empty book shelves to symbolise this act.

We came upon Humboldt University by chance while walking on Unter der Linden. Beautiful campus and public square. We learned Karl Marx & Einstein are alumni! Located on both sides of Unter der Linden - absolutely beautiful public square surrounded by gorgeous buildings.

To the casual visitor, this University is manifested by big classic buildings. It all looks very serious. Set in the center. In the summer, one finds lovely outdoor cafes and bars.

A beautiful building and interesting to learn that this university has produced the greatest amount of Nobel prize winners! A lot of famous names passed though here, including Karl Marx and Einstein. Very interesting, and sad, to hear about the book burning and empty library.

oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence
of some significant transformations, as well. The
gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets
between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given
