Great place to grab a beer or to have a meal. Nice spacious outside patio when weather allows and cosy indoor seating (limited space).

We used to go to joe,s nearly weekend when i was serving in the army it was in a place called theodor heuss platz which at the centre of the square burned the eternal flame also there we had the big naafi a watering hole for squaddies, then after drinks on the cheap we would head into joe,s which was always packed out with beautiful looking berliner ladies, and the jazz music playing i once saw kate bush play there in 1975 before she was ever heard of in britain,The people there were always very friendly towards us soldiers,we couldnt speak hardly any german sometimes to get our own back some of the boys would hold they conversations in welsh this seemed to baffle the berliners but it was all good fun what fantastic times i had at joe,s and wonderful memories that i,,ll never forget,Wonder how its changed since then?

Very disappointed as this has gone to be replaced with new shopping centre. Hope it reappears when work is complete.

Nice menu selections, but.. Changes to the meals are not accepted (couldn't even get potatoes instead of fries!). One of seven persons' meal was so long underway we decided to cancel it. Anyhow it was served when the six other had finished their meals. Steak looked nice but wasn't tender and tasted of nothing but the garlic spread on top of it. The served Löwenbrau beer was flat and not properly chilled. When paying I was asked to go to the bar to insert my card into their mobile terminal as the waiter did not want to bring it to our table.
