THE STORY OF BERLIN is a MUST to visit! Very intriguing and interactive journey through the history of Germany. TOTALLY IN LOVE with it! ' Remember to book in advance since you have to visit in the form of a guided tour.

Discovering "The Story of Berlin" was in a shopping center should've been enough of a sign, that this wasn't going to be good. And it wasn't. The exhibits looked as if they would have been dated the moment they were installed. For a city with such a rich history, it wasn't very engaging. Too much small type to read. Quite... More

Everything about the history of Berlin in English and German. Films, images and more. Even includes a huge underground nuclear bunker! Allow 2.5 hours or more for your visit.

A great day, looking at the bunker was fascinating. The guided tour was great, giving us lots of information. The museum itself has lots of different exhibitions to look at and read about. An enjoyable afternoon!

We visited The Story of Berlin as it is said to be a must do in Berlin. It does have a lot of information and follows the theme of the life of a person living in Berlin over the years. Firstly, there is a lot of information here but a large percentage is to be read so while the museum... More

There's lots to take in here. Plenty of historical interest displayed not just in written form but with lots of experiential stuff too. At times the experiences this conjured weren't necessarily pleasant which is only to be expected given the history of Berlin. The visit to the Cold War bunker (with a guide and included within the price) was eye... More

It was very easy to spend a lot of time here. The history starts at the beginning and goes through to the current time. It is a combination of visual, sound and interaction. There were a lot of school children on the day of my visit. The visit included an English tour of an atomic bunker in an underground car... More

Look for the tip of a USA plane wing on the walkway, allow yourself a good two hours and also take the timed guided nuclear bunker tour

Well presented museum showing time line of growth of Berlin. Included was visit to underground bunker from the 70's built during Cold War and genuine threat of nuclear war. Good guide and it was easy to imagine the conditions and fear experienced if this was in use. Only negative was lack of some seating thoughout the various sections, having walked... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
