Immaculate large gardens with beautiful lakes. €9 for a family if 4. We took the little train around the whole site which was quite expensive well worth the money as we could not have covered the whole area by foot. Both the train and ice-cream kiosks are cash only.
A wonderful day out.

Britzer Garten is an enormous park, with lots of shade and hydration points. It’s a great place to be, spend time with your kids, smell some fresh air etc.
Be aware that most shops in the park are cash only, and some accept only German cards. All of this can be avoided with a bit of cash, but be aware.

This is an amazing place, a must go if you are in Berlin owing to the following reasons:
1. Beautiful garden, very well managed near Alt-Mariendorf, just take bus 179 from Alt-Mariendorf U-Bahn metro station and get down at Sangernhausern Weg stop.
2. Playing areas for kids including options for water sport activities
3. Very nominal entry fees of just 2 euros, kids entry is free
4. beautiful parks, lake, bridges and landscape
5. Option to ride in a train that helps you get a overall look and feel of the whole enormous park, but for this service, you'll have to pay extra
Please remember to take along food, sheets where you can lay down, water, etc to make sure you are in the right picnic groove!!
Decfinitely a must place for families with children!

Came across this wonderful park today and could not believe that we had not heard of it before now. I will berate my Berlin friends when I see them. Young or old you will find plenty to do here. Fantastic play areas, wonderful lakes and streams etc etc. There is a miniature railway and the park is virtually access friendly. 3 euros to get in. Come on UK stop charging so much!! Get the U6 to Alt Mariendorf and then the 181 bus to Rotkoptweg,(it is only a few stops). Save a day and do it!

This wonderful garden is visited mostly by Berliners. I'm surprised that it is not given more attention by the tourist bodies. Acres of parkland, lakes and formal gardens with plenty of seats for the weary or if you simply wish to do a bit of sunbathing! In the spring and summer there is a marvelous little train that takes you around the whole park. Huge carp in the lake beside the restaurant. Elsewhere in the garden there is a coffee shop and library. A boating lake for model yachts and cruisers. At various times of the year there are spectacular displays of tulips and dahlias! Also a beautiful rose garden. Well worth a visit. from Zoo take the M46 bus in the direction of Britz Süd and change to the M44 in the direction of Buckow Süd/Stuthirtenweg at Fulhamer Allee. Get off at stop called Britzer Garten. Also a great way to see the suburbs of Berlin. Real Berlin!

I went with some of my friends and their children, specifically looking for the playground area. We were not disappointed. After a 10-15 minute walk thru the park, which was beautiful, we arrived at the play area. While the kids played in the sand, climbed on the pyramid and ropes, ran thru the water feature, we the parents were able to relax in the chairs under the trees and chat. There is a lot of grass area for the children to just run and play as well. We took a picnic lunch, though there are food stands within the park. Admission was 1.50€ for children and 3€ for adults. A map of the grounds can also be purchased for 1€, thought there are large map boards scattered throughout the park. We have a very enjoyable afternoon relaxing while the children entertained themselves.

Bad news first: you have to pay a small entrance fee (2€ for adults, 1€ for children). The rest: wow! A huge park in an admittedly somewhat remoter area of Berlin (not much else to do there). The park is very well kept and has lot of areas for children. Bring food and drink, because this is great for a picknick. We also took the train which runs for an hour a complete circle and shows you the enormity of the place. (It's a pity the train isn't electric, though. The diesel fumes are not so great.) It's good for a relaxing day with or without kids.

I love Britzer Garten, it's a joy at any time of year, but especially in spring and early summer when it's fully in bloom. It's a little oasis of calm, and when you are there it's easy to forget you are in Berlin. I love how each different area is full of surprises and every time I go it feels different. Well worth taking the bus for a visit.

It doesn't cost very much to visit this lovely place not far from the end of the U6 underground line. Ideal day out, whether you are a couple or family. There's a nice lake to walk around. You can snooze on one of the special deckchairs(no extra charge) and the children can play in one of the play areas. It is also possible to buy food and drink if it's not deep winter. We visit these gardens as often as we can because we used to live near here. Recommended.
