My wife, son and I met Jeremy, along with another couple and daughter in her early 20's for a walking tour of Berlin with an emphasis on the "Jewish history" and its key sights. Jeremy was incredibly knowledgeable and insightful about pre-war Berlin, the war years and the Communist period that followed as well. He did a wonderful job explaining... More

We had a wonderful time with Jeremy, from the time I contacted him to book our tour with him to the end of our day in Berlin. He was so informative even our German cousin wanted to book Jeremy to take her Father along for their own tour. Our 3 children were kept involved and interested for 5 hours, which... More

Jeremy Minsberg was the best. He arranged a driver from the cruise port and for our day in Berlin. The best guide we have ever used! Our teen-aged daughter got so much out of it because he made the history and city so accessible. Of course, we were blown away with his knowledge and the itinerary he prepared for us.... More

We did a two day tour of Berlin (5 hours each day) with Jeremy Minsberg ("Mr. Berlin") . Our first time in Berlin. This is a walking tour only - so 5 hours on your feet, Jeremy brings the sights to life with stories, videos and maps. It is definitely a Jewish oriented tour. We have traveled extensively all over... More

We were lucky enough to learn about Jeremy through friends who also had excellent tours with him. Our tour day with him was fun, informative, interesting, engaging. The only problem was that the following day as we were touring on our own, I wanted Jeremy along again because I knew he would have had so much more information than what... More

We looooved our tour with Jeremy! At first we wondered how we would get through 5 hours but time flew by! Jeremy is incredibly knowledgeable and will give you an amazing insight into the history of Berlin. The tour is customizable so you’re not stuck doing something you don’t want to do. If its your first time in Berlin, do... More

With just half a day to squeeze what I could from my first visit to Berlin a walking tour-THE FAMOUS WALKING TOUR - gives you over a little 4 hours a fantastic introduction to this fascinating city. Barry began by explaining in his gentle Irish way how a graduate in French and Law ended up as a tour guide in... More

Jeremy Minsky was our guide in Berlin. He was attentive, knowledgeable and covered so much more than what we heard the other tours covered. Our time with Jeremy was time and money well spent. If you are specially interested in Jewish highlights in Berlin, Jeremy is the guide for you. His descriptions, videos and pictures brought that time of history... More

Just returned from a short visit to Berlin and were fortunate enough to reserve Jeremy, the Berlin Expert. Jeremy is an American living in Berlin for the past 15 years. His knowledge and passion for his adopted city is extraordinary. He made our trip come alive. He is an expert in many areas, but for us, his history of Jewish... More

We are usually fine with just a good guide book and doing a European city on our own. Berlin is one of those cities with a complicated history both visible and hidden it really makes sense to hire a tour guide to pull back the curtain. If you're interested in history and a good narrative about historical sites and the... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
