Excellent way to see the sights, better than a walking tour any day!

The city Segway tour was everything I hoped for when visiting Berlin. This tour allowed me to see almost all of the famous landmarks throughout Berlin in a short period of time (3hours). The tour started with a 30 minute lesson on how to use the Segways this meant I was then comfortable riding the Segway along the busy streets... More

I found touring by Segway to be the perfect compromise between the drudgery of walking and the shame of a double-decker bus. Our guide, Craig, I believe, was smart, well-informed and patient. Highly recommended.

First time on a Segway and it wasn't a disappointment. Half hour to get comfortable on it before the tour began was great, as we were taken on the roads of Berlin. Couldn't have done that without feeling confident on a Segway first. Tour guide Jurgen was funny, informative and such a big help for extra places to see/do. The... More

Hi Sue G, Thank you for taking the time to review our Segway Tour. We're pleased to hear you had a great experience on tour with Tobi! We're also glad to hear the rain didn't prevent you from having a good time. Although it does sometimes rain during the summer in Berlin, we sell single-use ponchos in our shop for... More

This tour was recommended by a friend as a really fun way to get an overview of Berlin to start our stay and it did not disappoint. My wife and I are in our late fifties and were a bit apprehensive at the start but our guide Walid soon cured that. The safety briefing and operating instruction was easily understood... More

We did the segway tour 2 days ago and had such a great time! It was our first time using them but our tour guide (Tobi) was a patient teacher and after a spin or two around we were pro's. Tobi made all the difference... having someone who has experienced the iron curtain first hand made the stories real for... More

My wife and I took the Segway Classic Tour with Fat Tire Bike Tours, and enjoyed every minute of it. At first I was a bit anxious, but I was allowed to give it a try before we signed up, and I immediately felt that riding a Segway is a very natural thing to do. Believe me, if I can... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
