Madame Claude's is one of the strangest place I've ever been, whilst simultaneously fitting in perfectly within Berlin.
The place is certainly atmospheric; the amazing upsidedown decor of the main bar creates the illusion that you're sitting on the ceiling as you listen to ambient music that wouldn't be out of place on a horror movie soundtrack.
But we were there for the bands, there's a second room that puts on one of the most eclectic line ups I've ever seen. The night we were there they put on a great electro house act and a fantastic female soloist who had been traveling all over the world collecting songs in a range of languages and styles.
If you want a truly fantasting and unique experience, head to Madame Claude's

I loved this bar! It’s so quirky and all the decorations just add character, the chairs and tables upside down and stuff! But people do smoke here so prepare to smell like cigarettes the day after!

Great atmosphere with good vibes. We just missed the live music but would be a great venue for it. Worth a visit if in the area, even if it's just to see the upside-down world!

Go only if you feel you can deal with it. I usually have fun anywhere I go no matter what but this place was really disappointing. The music is a loud, deep industrial noise that already sets the dark tone and leaves no room for conversation. It's dirty but not like "Berlin authentic underground left scene" that you appreciate and enjoy, but just plain disgusting dirty. No ventilation, we had to leave after 10 minutes because we couldn't catch our breath. Really heavy, dense vibes that make you feel stressed AND on top of that you have to pay "a donation" to get in and feel terrible (at least the day we went). Careful : Not for everybody.

We visited Madame Claude by chance and were really pleased we did. A weird & wonderful bar. Friendly staff, cheap drinks and a good atmosphere. They had 2 live bands on when we went (Saturday night) which was a bonus. Got chatting to the other customers and ended up staying all night

Awesome place for people who like alternative, underground culture. I saw some great music there, the bar was great, people were friendly and the DJ in the bar was playing dark ambient psych.
They also have furniture stuck to the ceiling and everything is upside down. Love it.

Awesome place that my couchsurfer advised me to go to. We were 2 Frenchies and we loved the place, the beer menu is cool and I the decoration is super interesting... You're wondering if you're not the one upside down there.

My girlfriend and I spent one of the most enjoyable nights ever in this bar. The place itself is really cool, great decor and manages to feel sufficiently "cool" without being dirty. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, and experts at getting you absolutely smashed! If you're in Berlin, come to this bar, you won't regret it!!

Its all upside down!
Really quirky concept with the floors dressed as ceilings and vice versa with trainers strewn above you and curtains hanging upwards from the floor. There's a few different spaces to explore, its got a buzzing atmosphere and the bar staff are very friendly.
Smashing bar, I would recommend it to future visitors to Berlin.

If you like rock/new wave/alternative music, this is your bar. I highly recommend it for students. I went there with my wife on Friday and we enjoyed that a lot (we are almost 30 years old). The bar was really cool (please see photos on google) with extremely cheap prices (local beer 2€, whiskey 4€). Not too many people, not too few, just perfect. Ages between 22-32 mostly. And every Friday they have a live with various groups from around Europe.

It looked that way when we were there. A friend of mine is playing in October and that's been booked for months, so I can imagine they have a pretty booked up roster.
