We took the 3h Berlin Walking tour with Maria Thimoteo. It was the best way to learn about Berlin and visit places with so much history that I would definitely have missed if I didn' t take the tour. Maria was one of the best guides. Her knowledge about the history of Berlin was very high and she managed to communicate this knowledge to us with the best way. I highly recommend this tour to everyone that wants to learn the history of Berlin and visit historical places in a short time.

I did Chris' (Canadian Chris!) Free Walking-Tour. Chris was an amazing guide! He really brought his personality into his work, which made the tour a lot of fun. We visited great sites, and I learned a lot about the ways in which Germany deals with it's difficult past, and how it has moved forward with these scars to become the vibrant, diverse and incredible city that it is today!
There are so many significant sites across the city which saw pivitol moments in Germany's history, which are, for the most part, completely innocuous and seemingly unimportant. Whether it was a street corner, an empty platz or a parking lot, Chris brought these ordinary places to life by vibrantly retelling their extraordinary past!
I found this tour by complete chance - I was at Brandenburg Gate, trying to figure out in my head how to get to my next stop, when Chris asked me if I wanted to join the tour. I gladly joined (partly because it was free!) At the end of the tour you have the chance to pay the tour guide how much you think their tour was worth, should you wish to do so. Having no cash on me, I asked Chris for directions to the nearest ATM, because I couldn't not pay this man for the amazing tour he provided!!
I will definitely be using these tour guides again when I'm next in Berlin to explore other parts of the city! And if you can, make sure you go on Chris' tour! (Canadian Chris!!)

I went on this tour with my friend because we both are fascinated by the history and culture of Berlin and wanted to see the main sites. We were not disappointed! Susan was super engaging and funny, often giving fun facts and and very cool history. She was super knowledgeable and projected her voice well which is a great combination in a tour guide. It was also cool that she is Canadian, like me, but is doing her Masters in Berlin - it just so happens that she is from the town where I grew up! Since it was a free tour and you're supposed to pay "what you think the tour is worth," I felt bad because I wanted to pay Susan more and she definitely deserved more than I was able to give. A number of young people on the tour barely gave her anything and that was so unfair because she did very well and should be compensated for her hard work. Hopefully this good review helps! Keep up the great work!!

Did a Sunday Free Tour with English-speaking guide Carlos, and despite the chilling weather, it was amazing. The tour includes all the necessary spots to get a quick taste of Berlin, and the guide, apart from being highly professional, was also very nice, very considerate, inspiring and intelligent. I honestly didn't expect it to be so good. I'm familiar with the German and European history, but I still heard a lot of new things from a refreshingly new perspective.Totally recommend to everyone who doesn't have a lot of time in Berlin but is interested in the city's iconic places.

As I already said in the title, to book this tour was the best decision that we made during the short holidays in Berlin, because all the "must visit objects" are not so attractive as they look like in the pictures and when you come to the place and just stairing at the objects they say nothing to you. What I want to say that the guide in this tour will tell you a lot of interesting facts, the history of the object/place and much more. During our tour it was raining for all the time but the guide was super friendly, she did her job the best she can, despite the fact that she and we as well were soaking wet. Many thanks for her and really recommend for others!

I signed up for the free tour in English language. The tour was amazing and our guide, Ernestina, was really great. She has such a passion in what she do that she easily transmits it to everyone listening to her. The tour is strongly advised, if you are also lucky you will have Ernestina as a guide

If you are planning to explore Berlin this tour is the best. I went on a free walking tour with Rochale Yates. The tour almost covered all the popular attractions in Berlin city and Rochale did an outstanding job by sharing us insights and history of the places that we visited. I would have never found these places interesting if I had visited them on my own.
It was unfortunate for me that I didn't have time to visit the other tours provided by them. All in all if you are planning to explore Berlin these tours cover everything you might want to know. So it's MUST TRY! (If you are lucky enough try to be in Rochale's team - she's the best 😉)

Maria made this trip even more interesting. Her knowledge and the way she conveyed Berlin's history helped us to better understand the historic center and to feel the vibe of the city as well. The three-hour tour was not at all tiring, despite Berlin's cold weather in January. During the 3 hour tour we were able to see spots/places that we would probably have missed without Maria. When visiting Berlin, you should definitely make a reservation to take the tour!

The guide and our tour was really interesting and great, however I was a little annoyed that at the beginning of the tour, the guide said the way their company works is by asking you to pay at the end instead of up front. Nowhere on the website does it say this, and although I was definitley going to tip it the guide made sure to tell us that a typical tour is around 14 EUR. I could have booked a private tour with my friends for around this price and had direct interaction with the guide instead of sometimes struggling to hear amongst the large group. Just giving f

I went on the free 3-hour walking tour of Berlin. Jules was our local guide, and I have to say that I was blown away by the whole experience. I thought that 3 hours might be a little long just to walk around looking at sights, but it was totally the opposite. Jules was so passionate to share the history of her city and her country. Her tour was really well put-together, fascinating and with a great energy and attention to detail. I liked that she introduced different perspectives on Berlin's past, which added complexity and nuance. She also related historical events to her own family's history, which made it even more moving. We covered lots of different sights and the tour went at the right pace to keep things interesting without feeling rushed. Thanks a lot!

The 2-3 hour walking tour was good for us. We discussed adding a second tour in the afternoon, but chose to visit a different venue.

What is the recommended tip to give to tour guides on the free walking tour?

I’ve seen somewhere on a flyer for the free tour suggesting 5-10 euros, which seems pretty reasonable. I’m still in Berlin and I will be going for a few other tours (also about 2h-ish around Berlin) for which they charge 10 euro/person for a group size between 6-25 ppl.
If the group were smaller or the guide was exceptional, I would be inclined to tip more.

Pues no lo se con exactitud porque no utilicé los sellos pero imagino que si. No recuerdo que en su día nos explicaran ninguna limitación de uso.
We are a group of 14 people (7 couples) between the ages of 60 to 70 years of age travelling together. Will we be able to keep up with your guide? One of us is a little hard on hearing, will she be able of hear your guide? Thank you.

Yes. The groups tend to be small ish and the pace is dependent on the group. However, since there are quite a few of you, i would reccomend booking beforehand on their website just to make sure.
