at the very end of the Marienberg Fortress there is a platform from where you enjoy great views over to Wuerzburg. It reminds you of Heidelberg, down below is the Main River, vineyards, and all the sights of the Old Town. Next to it is...More

First, be sure you know how to get here. I was directed by a local to go up the street on the left side of the fortress to get there. Yeah. If you wanted to walk 5 miles, maybe. There is a path on the...More

Elevated position with great views of Wurzburg along the Main River. The garden is nice, but a bit small. Great spot for pictures or just to soak up the view. After walking around Marienberg Fortress you should be sure not to miss this nice garden.

I was lucky to visit on a cool day without many tourists so it was like wandering through my own elaborate garden. The outlooks are impressive

We did the escorted tour of Marienberg and the gardens. The tour was very informative and it is worth it if only for the views from the gardens over the city alone!

My 2nd visit here, mostly for the museum & Riemenschneider research, so didn't go into the fortress proper. But did a lot of wandering around, including the towers where prisoners were kept. Museum & information staff quite helpful.

From its hill top the fortress dominates the city. The garden is on the river side and it is the best place to view the river and the city. It is not to large, but the gardens are very well maintained.

Lovely peaceful garden with roses when we were there, places to sit. Very good view over rooftops and city so good place to take photos. This was a bonus gem of a find in this very busy city. Entry was free.

First you have to go through an inconspicuous passage next to the chapel to get to the garden, but then you will be honored by one of the best views over the City. Entrance is free of charge.

The garden self was almost nothing to see as there was no flower. I think it would be different in the summer when all the flowers are in blossom. But the view over the river Main and Würzburg is beautiful. It's a must visit if...More
