This is a yellow colored house next to the St Mary chapel. The tourist information center is located in this building. The exterior of the house is very attractive due to the carvings and the color. A great place to take picture with Marktplatz and the chapel at the background.

Next to the Chapel of the St. Mary you will find the Falcon house. Its Rococo stucco-work facade was added in 1751. Today you will find the tourist office inside the mansion.

I came across the Haus zum Falken, a 2 story light yellow "mansion" unexpectedly on the Wurzburg market square. It was easily recognizable by its features seen on pics of attractions for Wurzburg. The rococo decor still looked attractive and certainly must have been very impressive as it probably showed off the wealth and cultivated taste of its 18th century... More

We did not know it is an attraction when we were there, but we were surprised by the architecture - so many details in the decoration, that we could not just pass by. It catched the eye and we had to stop and stare. One day later I found out that the city actually was seriously destroyed during the second... More

It is an attractive yellow facaded building which you are shown as a part of the city tour. Originally owned bya wealthy trader, then a hotel, it has now been converted for other uses. The facade does look a bit too ostentatious for my taste, but perhaps that is what Roccoco style is all about.

Maybe after seeing a number of UNESCO and other really spectacular sites, we were expecting more. A big ho-hum on our part. It's attractive but not particularly memorable or interesting (in the grand scheme of things). Better hustle along to the Residenz (aka Residenzplatz) for some really good memories in the making. Happy traveling to you all! Create your own... More

Since 1629 it was a hotel, now the tourist office and the city library is in the house. You can admire already from far the yellow painted building, with all the white stuccos.

A nice facade but impossible to view because of the ugly market stalls set up right in front of it. The market is not only an eyesore but very noisy, and beware of pickpockets in the area.

While strolling in the old town I came across the three-storey tall lightly beige façade of Falkenhaus' (Falcon House) Baroque architecture, promising a photogenic opportunity against the clear blue skies. It was hailed as having one of the most beautiful Rococo façades in south Germany, with those elegant curls on the three Rococo gables grabbing every photographer's attention.

Falkenhaus, next to the Marienkapelle facing the Marktplatz, has the uniquely beautiful Rococo facade, and was the house of wealthy burgher in 18th century. The house is now a Tourist Office, Office of the Department of Culture, and the city library. Schonbornstrasse towards the Residenz from here is the main shopping street in Wurzburg.
